"Amazing lectures" "Would take again" "Skip class? You won't pass."

Every econ major (who's any good) should take 208, even if they're not pursuing the honors degree. It covers a wide range of cool andor useful topics in a very clear way. Landsburg is always a good lecturer but he's at his best in 208, probably because it's the most interesting material. (I've taken 108 and 207 with him as well; also good.)

His teaching style is really good and makes everything clear to me. But his test is really challenging that you always wonder "Am I right" during the exam.

"Respected by students" "Amazing lectures"

He is one of the best professors in our university without doubt. However, the homework assignments are always confusing! And you have to buy a useless textbook for this class.

Landsburg's exams come directly from his lectures and only from his lectures so to do well in the class you must go to every lecture. That being said, if you go to every lecture the exams really aren't that difficult. Also the TAs can be very helpful and will go through the homework with you. An easy and interesting class.

Great professor!! ECO 207 has been my favorite class so far. His tests are hard but fair. You must put a good amount of work into this class but well worth it. Highly recommend taking this class.

Very light work load, Difficult exams, Difficult Quizzes. Went to the TA's every week, because he is unapproachable. Has to time to be writing controversial blogs but not to meet with his students. His lectures do not prepare you for what you will be tested on neither the quizzes. He is smart, but his exams are VERY Difficult.

One of the best professors I've had. His class his hard but not impossible. His lectures are extremely useful and the fact that he uses his own textbook helps. He is a very knowledgeable person and while he may seem unapproachable, if you have a legitimate question about economics he will be willing to help.

Landsburg is an excellent professor. His lectures are to the point and entertaining. Most of the test material comes directly from lectures, so there aren't that many curveballs. However, his final exam was difficult and kinda screwed me. All in all, though, great professor who is being ostracized by UR for being argumentative and intelligent.

He should be doing honest work in a place where no one has to listen to him.

He wrote the book on economics, literally. He made us purchase his own text book. This man crystal clear and very boring. He definitely knows his stuff. He gives you practice tests so you know what will be on the exam. He doesn't give you solutions though so if you're not a smart cookie or if you don't have some good study buddies you're screwed

Very straightforward & logical. The material relies on a small set of formulas that are easy to understand. Work load is very small, except for exams. TAs are the most helpful resource in trying to understand material if confused. Tests are tricky, reading the book is not required but really helpful for those who are less economically inclined.

He is probably the best professor in terms of teaching in this entire department. His class is like a personal conversation, varied of pace depending on students' reactions. His class makes students fall in love with economics, not technical at all, but extremely logic. Everything he talks is in a very logic way. This is the best professor ever met

Best class and professor in the 7 semesters I've been at UR. Super intelligent and really wants to help. If you go to class, do the homework, and study a lot, this class is great-otherwise, his questions are really hard. Wish I could take more classes from Landsburg!

Every person I know has found this professor's exams to be pretty easy, as long as you come to class and pay attention. At any rate, they're much easier than Rizzo's, who switches with him every semester, so if you have to take the class (108 or 207), take Landsburg's. His lectures are not "exciting", but extremely precise and useful.

Material isn't too bad, though he is not the most interesting lecturer by any stretch. VERY tough grader. Know your stuff and then some to do well in the class. Disappointingly, he is not friendly at all one on one. Will not take any more Landsburg classes after this regardless of what is offered.
