"Respected by students" "Skip class? You won't pass." "Tests are tough"

best OChem professor, wants students to be successful. She even has Fridays where she opens up a full four hours of her time to help students. She may call you out on being a turkey or a brain mess buts its for the best! "Shut up and draw", She really keeps your priorities in check. Her tests tough but fair because she gives so much to her students

She basically expects you to do all of the book problems and memorize every single reaction even if she did not talk about it in class. You can work as hard as you want and still come up short. I can't see how anyone is doing well in the course. DO NOT TAKE.

The class is basically not fair. You can do every problem in the book and still do awful on the exams (She makes the questions 50 times harder). She loves to give trick questions and curve balls. She also gives practice exams where over 1/3 of the answers are wrong. Would not recommend.

Dr A is an acquired taste and after two semesters I'm still not sure if I like her yet. She is very smart but still checks the textbook occasionally to make sure she's giving accurate up to date info. She can be unapproachable at times and rude but overall she is a good teacher, test are HARD!!! And you're pretty much on your own in lab.

VERY condescending. Doesn't like guys. Grades on her opinion of you. Subject was interesting but she made it difficult and confusing. Don't take her class

I agree with most of the other comments BUT she is VERYcondesending. Also sorta ignores her Orgo students in favor of her upperlevels/research- makes u feel stupid. Also isnt helpful with answering Q's,just tells you to think harder. Doesnt seem to like guys.makes fun of them.always cracked 'jokes'about me, shes lucky im not easily offended.

FSEM111 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

I took her for a Chem and War FSEM, and she is definitely a Chem Professor. She once asked why we hadn't looked up the chemical formula to a substance we saw in a book and didn't know. But she is really nice, and will help you get a good grade if you try, and by the end of the year I did like her class a lot

Energetic, probably the only professor who can make an extremely difficult subject interesting in the morning. This class requires a ton of outside studying, but she does present all the material needed for exams and quizzes in lecture. Take notes, read, do practice problems, and review a little every day.

The textbook is AWESOME. BUY IT. shes not very good at answering your Q's cuz she just tells you to think harder =/. this class is doable but you gotta work for it. I got a B-/C+ in gen chem, i have a high B in this class. Study an Hr after class everyday and youll be good. Otherwise you will fail! (not cuz her but cuz orgos hard)

Dr.A is amazing! I was never very good at chemistry but she makes the material clear enough for even me to comprehend. I had an A in the class until finals (then dropped to a B). Do the work, go to class, and take notes and you'll be fine

I had Dr. A for Chem 211/212, and I think she is absolutely fantastic. She is one of the best professors I've had at Mary Washington. It's impressive when a prof can make organic interesting. She ties the chemistry to corny dating analogies, but it definitely helps! Her class is a ton of work, but organic isn't supposed to be easy. Take her class!!

She's fantastic. Anyone who can make organic chem interesting at 8 in the morning must be good. Her tests are hard and this class takes a lot of outside preparation. She can be intimidating at times but during her office hours shes extremely helpful, and do extra practice problems. I strongly recommend her if you have to take orgo

She's hilarious and makes organic chemistry FUN (sounds absurd, I know). She really does care if you show you do too. Of course you have to work your butt off to do well, but she definitely makes it worth your while.

She's a little intimidating but AWESOME! Lectures are intense but really helpful. Makes you interested in the topic. Orgo of course is hard, but she lets you drop your lowest test score, which helps. She doesn't curve, but her tests are fair. WAY better than Gratz, just don't trust every promise she makes- sometimes she doesn't follow through.

She is very nice and helpful if you go to study session on fridays. But she leaves material out, re-read the book and for labs BE PREPARED (her favorite line is "its your lab, you decide", she won't tell you anything!) However her tests are VERY NICE, no surprises, anything on the guide will be there! Just study and keep up on the HW!

Jasper is the shiznet, she rocks the kasbah. She makes lectures fun by anthropomorphoizing everything, EVEN the lone pairs. She likes to give dating advice in chemical analogies which can make for a good time. Jaspy leaves a lot out of lecture so you have to study a lot on your own, but her tests are fairly straightforward, ofcourse it is Organi

I think she's the best at teaching orgo (Gratz = arrogant, Slunt = insane). Her notes are well-organized, she sometimes forgets to put stuff up on Blackboard etc, but her tests are VERY, VERY reasonable and she also keeps you awake. can be REALLY moody sometimes though.

Dr. Asper is the best chemistry professor I have ever had. She can teach the material in a way a student will understand. Sure she can be really moody and intimidating to ask for help, but most of the time she is more than willing to help, you just have to ask.
