I took Langley's class based on his work I saw which was AMAZING. I went on this site and saw low ratings and thought, "Oh well I'll take him anyways." HOW WRONG I WAS. Langley is the worst professor I've ever had. Unorganized, rude, unclear, not structured. The class was a nightmare. Don't take him. Especially if you want to learn something.

This class was very frustrating. I had to totally redo multiple projects because he was not clear about the assignment. If you are a sensitive person do not take him because he can be very rude during critiques. The class in general was very stressful, I would not recommend him.

Langley is an odd man. Much of what he says does not make sense at all. One time he brought a dead bird to class. It takes forever to get projects finished because he continually makes the entire class redo them. Grades, due dates, and general requirements are unclear. Do not take him if you want to remain sane. That's hard enough at SCAD.

He is extremely unclear with directions and never sticks to a due date. He's hard to follow and makes you continually fix things with your drawings. Do not take his class unless you are really good at drawing. He also never puts in grades so you can never judge how you are doing. He is a fun person just not a professor I can learn from.

He is very unorganized and wastes a lot of class time which could be spent on work. He is very unclear about what he is looking for until you are almost done and find out you have done it wrong. The textbook is not used at all and you don't learn too much about drawing. Grades are also not kept up to date at all, left to wonder how you are doing.

Prof Langley is extremely talented, and his students do improve in their drawing. You have to be somewhat openminded to learn the way of seeing & drawing he want to teach you, as it is a bit different from others. However, every student comes out drawing A LOT better than when they went in. He is also easygoing and funny. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!!!

If you can understand his analogies and you actually care about drawing, you'll do fine. If you don't care about drawing, you're pretty well screwed.

Extremely talented artist and great demos but poor time management and vague directions/advice. Don't expect a straight answer to a question. You must have patience to redo sections or all of your work over and over. Nag him for 1 on 1 guidance and he'll be more helpful. But you'll get the best work out of all drawing classes (excpt prof Rise)

Langley is an extremely talented artist who can't teach at all. In class, he's very critical (which can be tough) but helpful if you get him one-on-one. Very unorganized. You might learn something if you keep your ears up and don't take his critiques personally.

If you really want to further your knowledge of the human figure, DON'T TAKE LANGLEY! He is a very intelligent and talented man but has no idea how to teach and share his knowledge with others. We literally spent four weeks on one basic pose that was easily completed in two class periods. What a waste of my money!

Professor Langley will give you some of the harshest critique you can imagine. You're drawing skills will skyrocket if you really listen to him and fix up your drawings. He knows the subject very will. If you want to succeed in the class, prepare to work very hard. Overall I had a very enjoyable experience in his class.

Langley is an awesome artist. The people who complain about his class just don't understand his skill. Assignments are fun and you learn a lot if you actually try.

he is the worst professor ever! he really dont teach anything. i really mean it dont take it with him. i gave me a C and when i ask why he didnt know it. when he saw my works i got an A!! he is so stupid!!!!

Mr. Langley is a genius. His classes are challenging, but that really helps you learn. He loves art and is very enthusiastic, also he has a great sense of humor. We learned the method of sighting and measuring that the masters of old used, a method that will really help your proportions. Tough, but it pays off.

Not a great teacher! He is a talented artist but you wont get much useful information from him. He will often contradict himself and is not very clear about what he wants, making assignments difficult. He seems to be much more relaxed with some people than others. He likes the sound of his own voice and thinks he's hilarious so good luck.

Professor Langley is an amazing artist but he needs to work on his teaching skills. He seemed like he never knew when projects were due and was not very clear when it came to project instructions or helpful tips. He talked for half the class, every class. Which wasted alot of drawing time.
