Adios, Colonel Akers. The university is losing one of it's best professors. Arguably the most down-to-earth and practical professor on campus. Spring 2010 was his last semester in the classroom.

GREAT teacher. Loves statistics and loves teaching it. He really cares that students understand the material and NEVER makes people feel dumb for asking questions. Also, he is willing to admit that he makes mistakes sometimes. Really nice and really funny. Absolutely take an Akers class if you ever have the chance.

By far the best Math teacher I have ever had! He cares about his students and explains everything very well. He keeps class interesting and keeps the class involved. You have to work hard to get an A but if you study you'll do well and make Akers proud!

I took the class years ago, but still remember everything he taught. That's how good he is.

Akers is one of the most down to earth people I have ever met, and he was an astronaut! He explains things very clearly and his tests are straight forward (even if not super easy). From what I have heard about the other teachers, he was the best calc 3 teacher. I miss having a class with him, even though I didn't like the 4-6 PM time slot.

If you have to cut off your leg to get into his class, do it. He's so awesome I took Stat 217 (out of my major) just because he was teaching them. He makes things easy enough for Grandma, and he'll go out of his way to help you. He is THE man.

The numbers say it all.. I even said he was hot, just to express how wonderful he is. If he's teaching it, I'll take it!

He is the best professor in mathematics I have ever had.Always willing to help, he changes your perspective on the subject completly. I will tell everybody to take a class with him, he is so intelligent and very humble!

The absolute best teacher i have ever had. He really helps you learn the material. His way of explaining things is exremely helpful. Plus, he is an Astronaut/race-car driver/park ranger... what more could you want?
