I had Prof Horton !6 years ago when he was a new professor at GW! He has been one of the most influential teachers I ever had. I enjoyed the manner in which he chellenged ideas and esposed us to new ideas. I was also lucky enough to be one of his advisees.

AMST164 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: You need it sometimes Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

Horton is wicked smart and a decent guy, but you can almost taste the arrogance seeping off of him when he comes into the room. He is one of the most well respected scholars in his field, and he keeps the lectures interesting but not always completely informative. He has one heck of a no BS detector, so now your stuff for the papers and exams.

public history Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: N/A Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

A fun lecturer, but for a graduate course, won't stop talking and let discussion progress. Has tons of connections outside academia but really doesn't focus on his teaching these days. Probably worth taking for undergrad but not grad courses.

HIS 171 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: N/A Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

I honestly didn't want lectures to end, it was like having a story telling about history. Tons of reading so pick and choose. Discussions are kind of boring but I really hope to get a class with Horton again.

Great Professor! Prof Horton is soo knowledgable in the area he teaches, and you can tell he loves to teach it. Would definetly take him again. The class itself was not hard, and there were even graduates in the class. Lots of reading, and its helpful to know about them for the discussions. Two paper and Midterm (easy) and a final.
