His lectures are pretty good but if you still don't get it just go to his office hours and he will walk you through everything step by step. He's also the kind of professor that will extend an assignment if he feels most of the class doesn't understand how to do it (he did it a few times for us).

The course communications is very difficult, but with DR. Aalo he makes it very understandable. I am in my last few classes at FAU and i think he is the best or one of the best TEACHERS at this school. If i was signing up for a high level course and Dr. Aalo was the instructor, sign up as fast as you can.

He is very helpful and if he sees one it's really interested in passing the class and puts effort in the projects, he would help one out. He is the kind of professor that like people asking questions either in class of office hours... many preferred office hours because of time management. He is a really nice and good professor.

He is very nice and very helpful, he is always at his office during office hours to help. But the assignments he gives are much more complicated than the examples he gives or the material he teaches us. The grade is pretty much a hit or miss, you either get full credit on the programs(if they run properly) or you don't. Overall I recommend him.

He grades 10% of the class based on attendance. I showed up less than half the class and almost got full credit for attendance. His programs and tests aren't very difficult. You can get an A in his class just following the book if you have any computer knowledge. There was only one program I couldnt figure out myself. An 85 or high is an A.

This is the second class I have had with Dr. Aalo. First with Linear Systems and now Fiber Optic Communications. How this professor has not won Teacher of the Year yet is beyond me. This is hands down the finest professor at FAU. He will go out of his way to help you learn the material, and the grading scheme is very fair.

I took Fiber Optic Communications with him. Great instructor to take. He doesn't leave you out to dry and cares whether you learn. Would take this instructor again.

Great Instructor to take. The course itself is very difficult and has coding projects. But he goes out of his way to help students understand the material, has take-home tests, and gives useful feedback. I would not have a problem taking this instructor any day.

Top-notch instructor. One of the best at FAU. Always available in his office for help. The take-home assignments will definitely help you learn the material that will come on the test. You do them and you should do very well in the course. Plenty of extra-credit in case you dont do so well on the test. I wish more teachers were like this.

Took very difficult course with him, Linear Sys. He went out of his way to explain and help me learn the material. The assignments were helpful and plenty of chances to increase your grade through extra credit are given. Overall OUTSTANDING teacher. I would certainly take him again for another course.

I took Linear Systems with him. I have never seen a teacher go so far out of his way to help me learn the material and earn a good grade in the class. He is always available in his office hours and will help you. However, dont go there thinking he will do your homework for you. You must do it first and then come with questions. Outstanding Teacher.

intro c++; this guy is horrible, cant understand doesnt teach, give u the test at last minute and give you wat ever he want even though u got a 100 he give drop it down to d if he feels like it. i dont get it avoid if u can he is shaddy

Horrible teacher and a gpa killer. Took him for 2 semesters and he didnt teach anything and I learned absolutely nothing, and he was happy about it

this professor doesn't even look at your test he just grade you whatever he feels. if your good you'll get a c or c- I'm senior programmer and i took his class cause financial aid requirements and basic programing he gave me a c i know that was an A+ all my programs were perfect. same the final test. don't take him he doesn't teach anything.

The class is an easy A, but Aalo is really not too bright. The class is fun if you keep up with the text (because he doesn't cover all the material in lectures) but the midterm is completely subjective and unrepresentative of what you do all semester.

Hard to understand and did not go over the material well. Expected you to know how to program by teaching yourself, and book was not useful. Overall an easy class if you attempt to do the work. Easy B hard A.
