Nesha is very sweet, funny, and knowledgeable. She was pretty disorganized though, and that really bothered me

Nesha is a hoot. If her class seems incredibly disorganized, that's because it is -- just go with it. Show up to class (do NOT skip more than once or twice!) and comment fairly regularly, and you'll do well.

Nesha is a warm, sassy & entertaining teacher. All classes were fairly unorganized with no real structure. With our class Nesha would pick names out of a bag of which student would present the readings for the day. Papers were also disorganized with no rubric or no real feedback. With all that said, I loved the class and enjoyed Nesha's insight.

Nesha is very caring and a fun, easy teacher. I would recommend her class if you're looking for something that doesn't require too much work. There were five easy papers and a final project. She is fairly unorganized. Put in the effort, and you'll do just fine.

Fairly unorganized, which can be problematic when you're trying to determine paper due dates. No exams, two papers and the rest of our grade was participation. She is very opinionated and doesn't hide it. Overall, the class was somewhat interesting but without clear "material" to learn, which is good and bad.

Nesha's classes were the best I ever took at U of M. If you want to think about the world differently and even learn about yourself, take any of her classes.

Nesha is a wonderful person. Her class was probably the most relaxing yet stimulating class I've ever taken. She grades tough for some reason, but that does not take away from her awesomeness.

Nesha is great! She's really passionate about the subjects that she teaches, and that really comes through in class. She expects you to be prepared for class and participate, but she is so engaging it's hard NOT to want to!

Nesha is an excellent teacher. She challenges you to think outside the box. You MUST go to class, and you MUST read. She will call you out if you do not. She grades subjectively, so stay on her good side. Furthermore, if you are looking for an interesting class, any class with Nesha will do. Although, it will not be easy AT ALL!!!

This is the best class I've taken. Nesha is patient yet challenging. The skepticism about her teaching style comes from those who were challenged but refused to let go of their conformist ways of thinking. Be open to what you read, but be critical as well. As for her subjective grading - all profs in the social sciences are subjective, come on!

It was an interesting enough class, however, Nesha drove me crazy. She's extremely condescending and acts like she's a gift to anybody that is lucky enough to be in her presence. Although I didn't like her, she does teach a good class.

Taking this class was probably one of the best decisions i've made. Nesha make her students feel welcome and you can tell everyone loves her.

EXCELLENT course...makes you want to learn...her style forces you to come out of your comfort zone and talk about some of the "taboo" issues of fighting against AIDS, such as classism and racism....REALLY forces you to stretch beyond just "classroom" learning....very outspoken but makes you want to speak up and add your knowledge and thoughts...

Nesha is amazing... she's done extensive HIV/LGBT/Feminist work in africa and Jamaica. Class discussions are lively, and every time I leave I feel like Ive learned something new and someone depressing about the world (of course this i a class on homophobia in the black world) That said texts are intresting but hard 2 find!

Three years after graduation I still remember things from Nesha's class. She won't read paper drafts which is annoying, but she's a great teacher and such a cool person. Her classes were always interesting and lively and rife with debate. Great courses, great woman.

Nesha is AWESOME. She's so funny and the epitome of a sassy, smart, and strong woman. She's also very nice but you have to learn how to approach her and earn her respect. She definitely does not take attitude and it will be reflected in your grade. But for the most part everyone does well and learns a lot too.
