Barbiero is without a doubt the best professor I have ever had. He not only is dedicated to teaching and has a genuine passion for seeing his students succeed, but he has more than enough real world experience to bring into the class room. I highly recommend Global with VKB -- you will miss out if you take it with anyone else.

Barbiero is one of the best Professors I have had at GW. He is an expert in many fields, and brings in many guests lectures that are experts in other fields that he knows less about. All in all you learn a lot in this class while only doing minimal amount of work.

PUBH 3133 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

Professor Barbiero is extremely knowledgeable about global public health and development, and his primary concern is getting his students interested in the field. He is filled with great stories and is an enthusiastic lecturer. Only complaint is that he can be a little all-over-the-place and his exams can be very ambiguous.

Professor Vic is the man! Attendance wasn't really mandatory, but I hated missing the lectures as they were really interesting.

You need to go to class, but it is always interesting. He has alot of high level professionals throughout the field come talk. Tests can be tricky. 1 Memo, 1 policy brief, 1 PPT, 1 Test, 1 Final, & Glearning. Easy to love the guy and loves when you participate. Top priority is you learning. You must take his class when he returns from peacecorps

Barbiero was great. Loved having in-the-field guest lectures. This is a great class to take but you NEED to PRESS him to go in depth if you want to learn a lot. And don't be afraid to call him out. If you want to question something he says in class, speak up! The man is knowledgeable, but he ain't jesus, and he loves class participation.

Best pubh professor @ GW! Lectures and guest speakers will keep you on the edge of your seat every time! All take home tests (2 tests, 1 final) and 2 projects. Assignments slightly challenging, but just to go to class and take good notes. He really likes it when u participate (5%).

THE BEST! I've never had such a caring/sweet prof. He is so passionate and experienced. He doesn’t waist your time w/ useless over-the-top stuff, only what is real and practical (smart concept!). B/c of him I'm concentrating in pubh. He give ppts so you don't need a notebook. His tests are take homes, but take longer than you expect-- work w/ ppl.

He is a really nice and funny man. An easy grader and a good speaker. He uses powerpoint every class that can be boring, but he doesn't give any in-class exams (only take home.) I recommend this class if you have to take a public health.

He is an amazing professor. He brings excellent credentials, a passion for the field, and a sincere care for students. He is the best professor I have had at GW. He is more than willing to help students and helped me find a great internship. I was already interested in the subject, but even if you aren't, you will definitely walk away changed.
