Hard class. I found it ESSENTIAL to go to every single class if you want to keep up. PPTs are all pics, but he does a great job of explaining them (Hence why you need to go to class) Exams are all short answer, so you really need to know your stuff. Expect to put a lot of effort in. With that said, I really enjoyed the class even though it was hard

Spent 3 wks out of 4 talking about complement, but there was only one question out of 20 on the exam on it. Not very organized (eg he talks about A, then X/Y, then C, then B). Ppts don't give a lot of information, just a lot of pictures that only help if you already know what is going on. Book isn't that much of a help, but it's better than him.

Great Prof! Class does require a lot of studying, though. Use the book, listen to his lectures, use the resources and practice tests he provides online. They really do help!

Professor Weinstein's lectures were clear. In my opinion, his exams were straightforward; however, there was a lot of time pressure. The class itself was very interesting and I learned a lot. It opened my mind to the intricate mechanics of our immune system and its functions. I think the class is easy to pass, but you'll need to work for that A.

Very hard class. Not an easy A at all. The teacher isn't very helpful if you go to see him during his office hours. I wouldn't have taken this class had I known it was going to be this much work and this hard.

This professor is extremely hard and makes the class rather difficult by not using the book at all!!!! It's really hard to listen to an hour and a half of recording and useless! very BORING professor and monotone! The subject is okay but the professor is boring!

He is so good at explaining everything that I never even touched the book. I just listened to his lecture recordings that he posts, take notes and study the powerpoints. I learned a lot too. Best professor that I have had at SFSU.

Very clear lectures, print the PPT slides, take to class, & take your notes on the slides. Lots of out of class study required, but very worth it if you want to learn the material, not simply memorize. Don't try to take exams by memorization only. Exams based on lectures and PPT slides, some case studies. Overall, highest quality instructor!

Immunology is a great class and Dr. Weinstein is a fabulous professor - approachable, clear, fair, objective. However, this class is a TON of work. It is definitely not an easy A - I don't know what that other rater is talking about!!

Take his class. You'll be glad you did! Lectures are very clear to understand. He's very reasonable for the grading. I say it was an easy A.
