You need to attend class and take good notes! Its a really interesting class and she knows a lot. You don't need the book she talks about most of it. Theres one midterm, two papers, one on a movie and another about attending an AA meeting and a take home final. Pretty simple class. Study and you're set to go!

I took her class on drugs and addiction, dont think you need the book at all, it was quite expensive. My class was a little large, and grading/turning back papers was very slow with little feed back

Good teacher! Ya she doesn't explain her grading but if you try hard enough on the paper, you'll get a better score. Lots of extra credit.

The thing is, she'll give you a 22 out of 25 on a paper that you tried really hard on, and won't tell you the reason for the lower score. She'd rather give you a B+ than an A just for the heck of it. If you're gonna be a tough grader, you might as well give your students reasons why they didn't get that A.

Boring! Found it frustrating that tests are all essay format which means grading is not standardized but done according to professors opinion. Material potentially interesting but presentation is too dry.

I took her for the drugs and addictions studies class. Great teacher! Need to go to 12-step meeting and write small paper about it, great experience. Definetly do the extra credit paper. Lecture doesn't cover ALL material on exams, cross reference with the book and her study guide and you will do fine!!
