Professor McHam is without a doubt the best teach I've had at Rutgers. I am taking this class just to have her again. YOU WILL LEARN A LOT. She expects a lot from her students because that is what a good professor should do. Go to her class, go to one office hour, talk to her, and she will be very accommodating. Most brilliant teach at Rutgers.

Professor McHam is very, very sweet! She's also a very thorough professor in that she goes over all important images in depth during multiple class meetings. Overall I enjoyed her class and recommend her for anyone interested in Renaissance Art!

Overall she was ok. Italian art is really interesting but she does make it boring. She lectures everyday for the whole class period and her final is ALOT of writing. But she is extremely nice, very intelligent, and very accommodating.

Very intelligent and knowledgeable prof. But her teaching style makes the class really dry. Talks all the time. Goes kind of fast. Not really helpful. If you don't care abt the class she's not going to go after you. Nice prof, nice art, nice class but she makes it really boring. Maybe too scholarly?? I had to go back to my books quite often. B.

The Best Renaissance Art History professor EVER!!!!As long as you go to her class, no need to read the books, you can still very easily pass the exam/quiz. Research paper is a big project on her class. If you expect to learn and get good grade, this is the class.

She is the smartest person I've ever met. If you have an interest in Art History the class will never bore you; the sheer amount of knowledge she has about everything kept me interested every single lecture. She goes a little fast, but if you do your part you won't get lost. The research paper is great too; the way she structures it is SO helpful.

McHam is a great professor, she really cares about students and their learning and will help you with anything if you ask. Material can be dry at times, but she still tries to make it interesting. Good class and good professor! You have to work hard but its worth it.

Do not listen to the other comments on here! Professor McHam is the most knowledgeable Art History professor I have ever had! She is so helpful and attempts to get to know all of her students. Quizzes really help break up the material and she separates the research paper in parts. I loved her class and highly recommend her! Take her class!!!

She grades rather hard considering you dont exactly know what she is looking for. I could never tell what she would or wouldnt accept as a satisfactory answer on her quizzes. Helpful in office hours but you really have to have a prior interest in her class to stay awake at times.

good and seemingly informative lectures, but she expects way too much on the exams and seems to think this is the student's only class. grades unfairly considering the work some students put in to acheive her ridiculous grad course expectations in an UNDERGRAD class
ARTH308
One of the smartest profs I've had at Rutgers. And she is NOT unfriendly, just a bit formal. But she is really nice and very helpful if you meet with her. Sure she grades sort of hard but that's only because, unlike most profs, she doesn't assume that the students are morons.
ARt354
She is not approachable and appears to keep the students at a distance. Very hard grader, doesn't provide all of the information during the lecture then expects a lot on the exams. Unclear.
