HIST332 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Mandatory Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

This man knows his stuff. A pleasure to listen to lectures but assumes that everyone in the class can answer questions about military history off the top of their heads. Talks very fast. Has high expectations and would be best taken as an only course if you don't know much about the topic. But again the lectures are absolutely fascinating

This class was nothing more than a build-up that led to nothing. Every day he talked about the "terror" that was this class but it was easy. I.e. I'm a bio major and was able to ba,ance 3 other classes and have no clue what I wrote about and still passed. Maybe the biology path just expects more....

Dr. Rook is amazing! Very helpful and very challenging. Reading is mandatory and so is participation but if you put forth the effort, you'll be fine. I would recommend him to anyone, anytime, any day.

Most incredible professor I've ever taken...he is so intelligent, openminded and insightful. He is the toughest grader and he holds his classes to unrealisticly high expectations, but guess what? Rook is just so good that the challenge is entirely worth it! You will not regret taking him, history major or not.

Not only does he communicate the information flawlessly, I actually enjoy coming to class. A lot of reading, but I would recommend to anyone, regardless of major.

This was the 2nd class I've taken of his and I just signed up for a third. Extremely interesting. Taught at University of Cairo and lived in the Middle East. Would recommend all History majors take his class.

A lot of work, but never useless or busy work. He is realistic and down to Earth. Extremely knowledgable and claims to have beaten Dr. J in basketball as a kid. He's great for history majors. Enjoyed the class and felt motivated afterwards.

Completely amazing. Lectures are packed with interesting and applicable information, especially if you're going into teaching. He expected a lot from us, but the challenge is worth it. You must take him if you're studying history at Towson.

HIST148 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

The class was very interesting. He takes a whole new look at History. THere is alot of work invovled, lots of required reading (some of it not at all needed or seemingly related) but he prepares you well for the tests. The class was challenging but fun and it wasn't too hard. Three big tests and two papers plus one small project.

Lectures suck! Everyday feels like an interregation pretty much. BUT his tests are very straightforward, pretty much tells you everything that is going to be on it, they are all essay tests, so if you don't like essays, DON'T take his class.

A professor who is actually clear on what is expected of you. Will tell you what is on the test and then you are responsible for finding the information yourself! An excellent teacher, his exams and papers are fairly graded. A+
