TERRIBLE!! Doesn't care about students. Even if you go to office hours he mocks your lack of understanding and won't explain things in different ways to help you understand. Has even mocked students in class in subtle ways. Not a nice person at all.

Stop hatin' on Scott. His class is absolutely rigorous, yes. He also doesn't spoon-feed you the information, but he's generally available to answer questions. He's not warm and fuzzy, but his class certainly prepares you well for future work, whether in chemistry, medicine, or just general study habits. No slacking. Rough? Yes. Worth it? Most likel

CHM185 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

He's not a poor instructor, but he is a hard person to get along with. He will help you succeed until he's happy, which may mean that, to him, you'll never be better than a C student. Not interested in students personally. His exams are much harder than his lecture would have you believe. GO TO OFFICE HOURS even if you don't have questions.

He'd rather play chess at his computer and turn students way from office hours

I had Scott for summer research, and I totally recommend him. He's always extremely helpful and interested in what you're doing. A really nice, really smart guy!
