ARTHI118
Not really into art or architecture, took for gen ed. Textbook isn't mandatory, niether is attendance. Very clear in what he wants. Doesn't post slides tho, and so much memorization for tests

Rohan was not the architectural genius he was talked up to be, but his class was very easy to get an A in. Don't buy the textbook because you will never use it, absolutely everything you need to know is said in class or on the ereserves articles. Attend the classes before the midterm and final and he will tell you EXACTLY what to study.
ARTH343
Tells you exactly what will be on the midterm/final. 3 papers that are very easy and interesting to write. Pay attention in class, take brief notes and you will breeze through this course.

4 papers, 2 exams, 1 quiz. Almost impossible to skip because the slides are just pictures. Lots of pics, so very hard to study for because he doesn't say what pics are going to be on exams. Fulfills 2 Gen. Eds but grading is strict. The SPARK page is almost useless, he hates internet. Idek what I got on the final paper/exam, but I passed the class.

Tim Rohan is the man. Normally art-history classes aren't too popular, but this guy makes it really interesting. He is probably the clearest professor I've had at UMass. Funny sense of humor too. 4 papers, which the TA's grade forgivingly, and a couple of exams where you memorize the building names, architects, dates, and important info. Take it.

Timothy Rohan is my favorite Art History prof, and I'm an Art History major! He is really easy to listen to, talks slowly, and repeats the terms and phrases that will be on the exams. He is easy going, intelligent, and witty. He really got me interested in architecture. He is a gem at UMass!

i love him. before this class art hist 191a, i actually hated art history but this class made me like it. he is funny and makes class fun. he knows his information and gets it across very clearly without being boring. if you study exactly what he tells you for the final and midterm, you'll do really well.

Class was great. I didnt like my TA, she took too many points off for small errors I made. Paper's are pretty easy, theres 4 of them. The final exam was wicked easy, he points out which what you need to read in the textbook for essay questions, and just go to class and memorize the 27 buildings, dates, location, and architect for final.

It's been said, Tim is the illest architectural history professor that you will ever come across, and easily one of the best educators I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Incredibly concise and great 'crowd interaction'

I only had him for a portion of the class since it was team taught, but he was my favorite professor of the class! He is very witty and makes the material interesting and had me laughing many times.

Tim is probably the best teacher I've ever had. His lectures are fun and very informative as well as Tim making them somewhat entertaining. I would recomend this class to anyone interested in architecture.

Professor Rohan's Architecture class is incredible. His lectures are fun to go to, and his exams are extremely fair and reasonable. He's very well educated (Harvard and Yale), but not pompous. Approach him after class, he seems hard to talk to, but he's just really shy.
ARH 632
Extremely articulate and intelligent professor. Probably the best Art History lecturer on campus. Outside of class he may appear quiet and introverted but once having established a relationship with him, it is easy to see how witty and approachable he is.
arthist555
bad thing is that he needs a spark from the students to really get going, good side is he knows his stuff
Arthis 532
Extremely organized and excited about the topics. Friendly approachable, well organized and presented lectures.
