If you study for one week for the timed online exam and expect to do well you will not. Most questions have more than one answer and taking pages of notes and doing the assessments will not help. Do not recommend take another psych class if possible.

Took the online version of PSB3002 with him, the wrote the book is hard to read, i rather read an orgo book than reading this book! he seems very arrogant, he likes to show off through his text..the chapter exam is VERY unreasonable..25mins for 35 question, I love psych but not with him. He needs to improve his book, definitely not recommended.

This was one of my favorite professors here so far! I loved his class even though I never had any experience with biology. You will have to work hard though if this is the case; I got an A minus but it is possible to get an A if you work hard. Go to TA office hours and the study sessions. Do the extra credit, read the book, and go to class!

David Smith is by far one of my favorite professors I've had at this University. The course is challenging but his lectures are interesting and entertaining. Outside of class he is very friendly. 2 years later he still recognizes me gives me a wave when I see him on campus. Read the book carefully and study the Powerpoints well and you'll get an A.

Def should've listened to the reviews about this class. Prof is really arrogant. Never went to class- it's all about reading the book. Tests are very specific and straight from the text, lectures were useless. Got an A- with hard work, and I'm a bio major. Wouldn't recommend if you're a non-science oriented psych major. This class is science HEAVY.

I really liked Dr. Smith and the way he taught this class. The articles we had to read were difficult to understand, but he extracted and taught the salient points. The exams were also difficult, but they were take-home. He was kind and helpful. It was a great class. I would take another course with Dr. Smith.

His exams are really hard and very specific. some sections he would barely cover and still test us on. he barely taught a lot of the subjects. i do not recommend taking him.

After reading previous reviews at the beginning of the semester I was nervous but I thought he was a great teacher. Loved listening to lectures, very interesting. Gave review sheets and held review sessions. Tests were fair. Offered 15 points extra credit and a make up exam.

Seems like an ok prof until you finally get exam scores back. points off for not using the exact word he wanted, unclear questions and so on. Horrible to contact, had to repeatedly e mail the same questions in order to get a response, if one was ever given. Plus he lied to me multiple times. Worst prof I have ever had!

WORST TEACHER/TA/CLASS EVER!!! Had to drop it...(My first drop ever). Tests are impossible; lectures are really crappy and neither the TA nor the teacher help at all. Please listen to what we say, I regret taking the class. Pay more attention to rmp.com because the class quality depends on the teacher and not on the content... DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS

ok yea his TA sucks but she tries. Read the book and study! its a tough course but its fun and if you study you should be fine. He holds study sessions which are helpful and he drops your lowest test grade so if you do well on all his exams you dont have to take his cumulative final! no assignments of any kind

This is the only class I've ever withdrawn from. The tests were killer. He stopped coming to lectures, and his TA(yoko?) did not do a good job filling in. I liked the material and learned some, but you wouldn't know that from my grade. If you're into bio this class is perfect. Smiths funny & used good examples like drinking beer but wasn't for me.

I have never been so dissapointed by a class at uf. A little less than halfway into the semester Dr. Smith just stopped coming to close and his TA who spoke NO english was responsible for us. He stopped holding review sessions and posted study guides that had no relation to his horrible tests. never responded to my emails or questions. DO NOT TAKE.

In response to the previous comment, he gave study guides for every exam. His lectures could be a little long-winded, but not hard to follow. The TA was not that helpful, so I went to Smith with any questions. This course is a bio credit, so of course it is going require more effort than psych classes. Read the book, go to lecture - you'll be fine.

This guy rambles forever. Loves to hear his own voice. Stopped doing study sessions, stopped offering study guides halfway through. Had his TA that could not teach do half of all the lectures. Very thick in bio material. I don't how this is classified a psych class. We learned more about ears than causes of psychology. DO NOT TAKE!

PSB3340 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

If science is not your strong suit, this is not the class for you. This is not a psych class that talks about biology...it's a biology class that affects psych. Test reviews are useless because they are so broad. A simple "make sure you read all the slides and the book" would be more helpful. Lots more difficult than he portrays at the beginning.

Great Subject, not so great professor. The study guides are misleading. All questions come from textbook. Prof/TA not helpful in answering questions. They sometimes seemed threatened. I've even gotten "go read the book." This is actually good advice. Lectures not helpful, but the book is. Final Grade A, but still left with a sour taste in my mouth.
