Econ2101
Gives lots of notes and you learn a lot in his classes. Once you go to his classes, the exams and assignments should be pretty straight forward. A great teacher.
ECON2101
Very knowledgeable, always well-prepared. Lectures with little ref to his notes. A skilled mathematician, he derives the formulas carefully to ensure understanding, but refuses to dumb down the material to simple memorization of facts, expects students to understand the theory and think for themselves.
ECON2000
Baksi is wonderful. His examples are clear and he's able to provoke good discussion, especially in environmental economics, one of his areas of specialty. Tests are very fair, quite straightforward. You can learn a lot in his class.

Baski's notes are very well done. Very passionate about environmental economics and good discussion about the carbon tax and carbon pricing methods. Usually a throwball question in mid term but nontheless good prof

A knowledgeable professor who keeps class interesting. Examples are illustrative and often relate to current environmental issues. Sometimes speaks quietly; sit close. One rater below mentions condescension - I'm puzzled, as Baksi is about the most mild-mannered prof in the department. Tests are fair, and he is clear concerning his expectations.

I don't recommend him for intro courses, but when he teaches what he's interested in, environmental, he's more enthusiastic. Tests are always fair, if you go to class you'll do well.

He is a good prof. His lectures are one to one with the book, so you don't have to buy the book just come to classes and you?re fine. He usually does and assignment before the exam that is just likes the exam. Which is great. Very nice and very helpful after class, not so much in class, always rushing with the material of the curse.

Awful. Very condescending to students. Expects far too much considering how poorly he teaches the material. Speaks far too quietly and mutters a lot which results in missing a lot of information. Painfully boring.

Knows his stuff, but doesnt seem interested. All his examples are about coffee and cigarettes, his true passion.

I found that I did not like the instructional direction this prof took with this course, he came to class 3-5 minutes late every class, he spoke a bit soft for my personal liking, and was rather unhelpful. Hopefully future economic courses turn out better than this, because this first ecomonics course was a rather disappointing start.

He seems to get a a lot of bad ratings but I find he is fairly good at explaining the material, if somewhat unenthusiastic. His tests are very fair and reflect how he teaches his class. If you go to class I and study an A is almost guaranteed. I didn't go to class enough and shot myself in the foot, but overall not a bad prof.

Fast paced, dry, he knows his material well but cannot save this horrid class, nervousness the first month characterized by entertaining rasslin matches with class equipment. Not recommended but Staff-1 is a pot shot at best. Attend class and ask questions to slow him down is the only advice. He ROCKETS through material with wreckless abandon...
