She was soo helpful!! Although the class was tough, she was very helpful when i went to her office hours. I would take her again without a doubt. I learned so much.

Don't be afraid to question her. Test answers and explanations are often wrong. Study the book if you really want to know the material. Her lectures are elementary overviews.

Professor Oatis was great. Honestly she made everything clear and if you had a question she would gladly answer it. Her choice of TA's were great except for one. Besides that, the tests were a bit harder than they needed to be. However if you put in the work you will get a good grade. Will gladly take her for another class!!

Lectures are pointless reiterations of slides clearly made by the manufacturer of the book, which is itself, convoluted and endlessly wordy. Chemistry is much easier than the teacher and tests make it out to be. Advice: seriously consider taking 133 with different teacher, especially during the summer session.

I hate this class. All my hard work just for a C. She never gave us any feedback about our work. It was all peer review and all the kids knew about the same as you.

Class was useless, and on top of that, she hardly explains anything that you need to do. "Oh, there's a paper due. go do it", and won't explain what it's really on. VERY dull - doesn't make lectures interesting, and put even the most hard-core students into a dull slumber (or at least looking like they've gone through shock therapy).

A lot of writing for a one credit course. And she has a habit of making all her papers due the same week CHE326 or CHE384 has an exam. Read my lips..nightmare..

Decent professor, but she makes a habit of making tests far too hard. She'll put esoteric exceptions in the beginning that you would only know after completing the course. Still, everything works out okay with the curve, though. She doesn't ever answer e-mail.

Teaches decently but her test are so much harder then all of the homework. No partial credit multiple choice test. Doesn't give fair test.

She doesn't respond to e-mails and is nowhere to be found during her office hours, you'll do better to read the book than try and learn anything from her.
CHE132
She teaches the subject well although she really isn't enthusiastic about it at all. Do the hw, pay attention, study and you'll do well. Main thing to watch out for are her horrible choice of TA's. They were never fit to teach, and she will hold their word over yours.
CHE303
She is willing to help, yet sometimes she doesn't succeed. Procedures were vague and never told you what you needed to write in the lab manual. She speaks in a manner that makes you think that she is annoyed. She is a lot better than Johnson by comparison.

She made summer gen chem manageable! Couldn't have made it through with another professor. Great for students who want to really learn chem.

i just finished taking the summer CHE 132 course and thought i would never understand chemistry before i had her, for those of you who have had hanson, she's 10x better at explaining concepts however her tests are still very challenging...it helps to go to class, although she doesnt take attendance so its not mandatory to go

Professor Oatis is one of the best instructors I've had to date. She is knowledgeable, helpful, and approachable if you need help. She made a potentially difficult summer course manageable. Highly recommended.
