Dr. Darnowski is great despite what others have said. I have had him for four different classes including an independent study. He is difficult, but the key to Dr. Darnowski is to not try and discuss something over email with him, but instead discuss it every spare moment you can with him. Ask him to review materials in a simple manner.

P373 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: Not Mandatory Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

Lectures are engaging and informative, but fast. He is very helpful during the class period, but no much on returning emails. Difficult to get exact notes. Exams are straight from lecture and difficult. Questions are sometimes oddly phrased, and unclear what is being asked and worth a lot of points. Disorganized labs, poor condition of materials.

Darnowski gets a lot of grief, but he is not that bad. As long as you take notes, study, and ask questions you will do fine. If you email him about questions for the test and he doesn't email you back, he will give you extra points. He is a nice guy.

Biol-102 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

He was very rude to students, and confusing in what he expected on his test. He did not give any form of study guide, just sample test. He graded harshly and takes off for spelling. Switch teachers is possible or kiss your GPA goodbye because it will drop. Labs are pointless and he gives you quizzes on the labs you HAVENT DONE YET! SO REAd AHEAD.

He is the strictest grader I've ever encountered, but I learned a lot. The tests are easy, but his grading is punishing. If your knowledge doesn't match up perfectly to his high standard, you might as well forget it. Getting an A is a huge challenge. Take copious notes, try to get into his head, and ask for help. And may God have mercy on your soul

Don't ever take this teacher. It is impossible to get an A. Half of the class drop after the first test and he even took one week on vacation on a 6 week summer class leaving us with a substitute. The extracredit questions for the tests are extremely stupid based on movies and stuff he knows. He is a hard grader who take points for no reason and you never know what is going to be on test.

He was rediculously hard. When you asked him a question he expected you to know everything leading up to the answer. I changed my bio major because of him. And after test 2 there were only 10 people left in my class.

He is the hardest grader in the department. When you ask for help he says to email him and he doesn't get back to you for weeks if at all. He is the reason I changed my major.

I took him for Plant Phys. -__- awful to say the least. I recorded his lecture since he talks so fast. The average on the first test was a 55% and he did NOTHING about it. The other tests weren't all that great either. NO ONE got an A. He also takes off for spelling when he himself cannot clearly write on the board. NEVER TAKE!

I was a Bio major when I started his class. This Professor is why I am no longer a Bio major. He is very rude, and gets lost on tangents that do not pertain to class. He goes very quickly over hard material never stopping for questions, then asks if the easy material is understood. He does not make you feel as if questions are welcome.

I took Dr. Darnowski's Horticulture/Bio tech class last summer and loved it. I learned a lot and had fun while doing it. His tests are based on class lecture notes, so be sure and write a ton and study hard and u will do great. (And he has lots of cool stories) Ask him about his Trigger plants, they are his passion. :)

Instead of creating a stronger interest for the subject, his class had the opposite effect. His exams are extremely tricky. He tests over 5-6 chapters using about 10 essay questions. His class was the worst teacher experience I've ever had.

Both classes I have taken by Dr. Darnowski were very informative. I did study hard for his classes. He is a very intelligent and kind teacher. Focus should be kept at all times during his class. I recommend sitting at the front of the class. His tests followed info he taught. I used the book as a guide to fill in gaps.

Dr. Dranowski is very helpful if you take the time to ask him for help. He has trouble explaining lecture in laymen's terms. He is very intelligent, but I would never recommend him. He does not give study guides and the tests are over 8 or 9 chapters. The class is extremely difficult.

Dr Darnowski is very intelligent, but does not need to be teaching. His lectures are lame, and then his exams are tricky. Its almost like he gets off on students failing. If you email him, you wont hear back for about a week. Please for the sake of your GPA do not take this teacher.

Hard to follow lectures b/c he goes very fast and doesn't repeat anything, you REALLY have to pay attention or you'll get lost. I didn't find the textbook helpful. Labs are not always clearly explained either. He knows his stuff but doesn't easily teach it. Tests are difficult but he tends to reuse questions from old tests (which are study guides)

Very good professor. Very knowledgeable. His tests follow what he lectures on and the material in the chapters. As long as you take the time to study the lecture notes and review the chapters, the tests will not be difficult. His handwriting is not very legible. Gave the option of taking lab tests or writing a lab report in place of the test.
