Of the three semesters I've been at UWF, Dr. Zumbro is the best history professor I've had so far. Sometimes gets off topic, but he is insanely knowledgable on Nazi Germany. Pretty cool guy. I can see why his courses fill up the quickest during registration.

Great teacher, take any class he offers. Gets off topic a little, but worth the class.

I LOVE DR. ZUMBRO. He is amazing, and knows his stuff! Tests come right from the lecture topics, and his papers are easy and count for little. You learn a lot, and the stores he has are awesome. I had WWI and Nazi Germany and this summer and fall will be having Maritime history and French revolution. I can't WAIT!!!

Amazing teacher! He knows his information, and he has neat stories which made it easier to remember. Gives a midterm and final, and a paper on the topic of your choice. LEARN THE LECTURE NOTES! That is the key to passing his class. define the lecture notes, study them, and you will pass his tests. Both tests have 1 essay question also. Easy though

Eesh, so may critical comments. Dr. Zumbro is a fantastic historian and instructor. It's not his job to entertain, it's to teach. He's a wealth of knowledge and very kind. So lay off, people - if you discipline yourself, you'll be successful in the class.

Instructor's tests teach nothing. The man knows his stuff, but he's too busy drilling for dates and names. Nothing is learned in this class. Another typical instructor with a PhD. I had such high hopes for this class too. Don't take his class. Do yourself a favor.

Not a tough class at all. Take good notes, make your own timeline, and look them over weekly. No research paper. An easy B.

I would say that Zumbro is the easiest history professor at UWF. Most history professors require a kidney and a research paper but he doesn't. We have a guy in our class that can imitate him perfectly which makes the class a little enjoyable. FT WALTON BEACH CAN YOU SEE THE PRESENTATION! If you take his class you will hear those words everyday.

Zumbro's classes are fairly easy. His exams come straight from the lecture topics he provides you with. He doesn't assign a research paper. You just have a mid-term and final exam that consist of fill in the blank questions and a essay question. But if go to class and pay attention you will have a good idea of what the essay question will be.

knowledgable, professional and an overall nice guy. His lectures are well organized, and the expectations for the exams(mid-term and final) are clear. Overall, a good professor.

I'm not sure exactly why so many people are being so critical...maybe you didn't like your grade? Anyway, Zumbro's classes are rewarding if you pay attention. Everything on the test comes from his LECTURES, not the book. He'll say to read, but he never puts anything on the test that wasn't in the lecture. And even better, no paper!

Professor is self righteous and makes sweeping generalizations. While he is good about the information that's been the the text book standard since it was written he is very poor on technical details that are readily available in MODERN history texts. I'd rather take calculus then any history classes from this professor and I'm a history minor.

Dr. Zumbro knows this stuff inside and out. His lectures aren't too bad, just pay attention and write down everything. He jumps around a bit too...so make your own timeline. If you actually pay attention and listen you will learn and do well. His stories are sometimes out there but they are entertaining. I would def. recommend him.

You only recieve two grades for his class; your mid-term and then your final...he'll tell you "be sure to know chapters 22 through 29 for your test". Oh ok, no problem, only 300 years worth!!! And his tests...fun fun, ESSAY FORMAT ONLY!!!!! Good luck!

Knows what he's talking about, but I got a little lost sometimes. Tests aren't too hard, and you only have two and an essay! I will take him again!

Very interesting class. He lived in Germany for years and was in the army over there. mid-term, final, and a book review of a book of your choice. Knows the subject inside and out, his books that he writes are great. Knows a lot of people and tells their stories often to relate them to students. Will definatley take him again!!

Class is boring... hard to follow. He knows a lot of info about what he teaches, he just doesn't know how to get down to a students level to teach it.
