He is a really nice guy... that's about it. Very, very difficult and boring.

His lectures are incredibly boring and he goes out of his way to use big words just to show off, so his lecture tends to not be concise. He goes on a LOT of tangents, and mumbles almost constantly. But he wrote the textbook so you can just read what he said in the book. He curves the grade, so getting an A is really easy without much effort.

85%-100% = A. He takes the top 4 out of 5 quiz scores, drops the lowest. Show up to class, study the quizzes he gives you from the year before and you'll be fine. The period before each quiz he goes over what to study. He mumbles sometimes and his word choice can be hard to keep up with at times, but it's not that big of a deal.

Interesting class, but his tests are really hard. He does drop one of the scores and his grading is very lax (75%=B-)

It seems that those complaining on this site are either genuinely unintelligent and/or terrible students looking to draw attention/responsibility away from their own short-comings. Fantastic professor.

Very good instructor; ignore the complainers below. Juola requires only an 85% average on 4 of 5 quizzes for an A, and 10 questions on each quiz are repeats from the previous quiz. Attend class (at least half the class doesn't show up to lectures) and study your notes and you'll get a relatively easy A. He does mumble sometimes though.

terrible professor. wrote his own book but it is just as useless for helping you understand the content as he is in lecture. he mumbles a lot and talks like he is talking to a board of psyc directors. layout of class is cool (5 quizzes, drop your lowest score) but the quiz questions are ambiguous and hard.

I find his class dull and uninteresting. His "quizzes" which are really exams are lengthy for the amount of time given to complete them. They are all multiple choice but are worded poorly. The only plus is that he curves the test grades. However, that isn't always helpful considering there's generally 1 or 2 people who get fairly close to 100%.

Yeah, this teacher is HORRIBLE. He wrote the book for this class..very poorly written. It almost doesnt even help u on his tests. and he has to curve all the tests cause everyone fails them. obviously the tests are too hard! He should give extra credit for going to class.

There are 5 "quizzes" with 55 questions each. His quiz questions are confusing, and with the class only being 50 minutes long I always run out of time to finish. His teaching style is not helpful to learning. The notes he puts up are terrible. I expected this class to be an easy A after reading past reviews, and I currently have a C or a D.

I don't know what those other people are talking about. This class is extremely challenging. The quiz questions are worded ambiguously. There are 50+ questions on each quiz. He teaches directly from the book

Cognitive Psyhcology. Very easy. My friend and I didn't even attend the lectures. We both just studied the night before the exams, memorized what was important in the book, and got A's on every exam. Great class if you're looking for an easy A!

Juola was a very good prof. I would def reccommend him to anyone in the Psych field. He is probly the smartest prof i have had yet. He explains things very well. 5 short quizzes (30 questions) instead of 3 huge tests. No final. No papers. Just quizzes. No attendance. I love the way he does his course. very funny sense of humor.
