Great teacher. Loves MN history, lol. Attend his class because he lectures on slides and if you missed a note, you're basically screwed. 1 take-home midterm & 1 take-home final! 1 pop-up in class quiz! Requires lots of books and reading, but only needs 1 book! "MN 20th Century book. He's fun!

This class felt very remedial. Brueggemann cares less in this course for American history than specifically Minnesota's involvement. The class is supposed to be from 1877 to present; it's really Thomas Jefferson to the Cold War. This class consists of mostly lectures, and the "discussion" is just a few worthless comments. Has a hollow enthusiasm.

Make sure to be to class everyday!! All he does is lecture, so it is very important to be in class everyday so you won't miss anything. He does a ton of take home tests, which makes the class super easy. There is a ton of info he throws at you, but he repeats himself a lot so it makes it okay. He is a very nice guy!!

I really enjoyed MN History with this very passionate teacher. Learned tons about MN and plan to do some exploring this summer. You do need to attend and take good notes, as that what the tests are based on. Great teacher!

He didn't require attendance but if you miss a lecture, it affects your test grades. His lectures are kinda boring but if you take notes, you don't need the books. Overall I though the class was interesting.

I really liked this professor. His lectures were a little boring and he repeated himself, but overall I enjoyed the class. He taught as if you had no knowledge of history so it was very nice for me, a beginner. The tests didn't seem to have much relevance to what he lectured on, so I would suggest reading the texts. I got a B in this class.

Amazing professor. Very passionate and understanding. Never used the book. Sometimes goes off on tangents but I he inspired me and reminded me about my love for history. Choose this professor.

Brueggeman was a great teacher! Really easy class but You'll need to take lots of notes.. And only buy the Tice book for final exam. I would highly recommend this class for everyone who lives in MN.

Very very passionate about MN History. Filled with knowledge, but has a lonely soul that comes through in his teaching. If you take LOTS of notes, you should be okay. If not, you'll bomb. But a really nice guy with a little mustache.

Brueggemann was an alright teacher. He does lectures most of the time, only a few exams, and barely quizes. His exams are simple as long as you take notes on the lectures. His lectures are very important, because their the materials to pass the class, not the books. Show up to class every meeting, because it's all lecture, which are important.

Too many books! This guy wants you to get 6 different books for this class. I only opened one and got a great grade. Make sure to write good papers for him. Take good notes and listen carefully, you'll kick yourself if you take a day off. If you're not a morning person be aware that he had a monotonous voice that will put you right back to sleep.

Awsome Teacher All Around. Knows the material well and delivers it with interest. He is very even handed with the historic facts lets the students interpret events for themselves.

Mr. Brueggemann is a man full of information and knowledge when it comes to MN history. however, he is extremely hard to get ahold of as he doesn't use email, and wants his students to call his home phone. His tests are wordy, and often with mult. choice questions going to letter "L". He writes nothing on the board, so take GOOD notes.

I took U.S. History 2 with this teacher. He was nice, easy to listen to, and made the subject very interesting. He cares about helping the students understand and succeed, and offers extra credit opportunities. Don't get behind in your studies, though; cramming for the tests is just annoying. This was my favorite teacher this semester!

This is a survey history course and he makes that clear. There is no in-depth analysis of any historical event or figure. He lectures on facts and the tests measure your memorization of those facts. As long as you listen attentively to his lectures, take notes, study from textbooks and online resources, you are guaranteed an A. Extra-credit galore!

Very good teacher! You can tell he really enjoys the subject. There are 6 books, but I only opened one (the Tice book) and passed with an A. Just make sure you're there for EVERY lecture, and take good notes! All of his tests are largely based on the lectures. Good class!

He is very helpful if you go and ask him for help. He will include many details so it's good to take notes. He's very nice and reasonable. Just make sure you either read your text book or take notes in class. I'm sure you'll pass if you study.

Very knowledgeable. 3 hour lecture without notes and kept it interesting. Multiple choice test is a bear. Has two other types of tests too. Very fair and presents lots of good information. Great teacher. Great class.
