aalbers is a nice guy, but watch out for those eyebrows. crazyeyes for sure. he talks real fast, and tries to make jokes, but most of the time he fails miserably. does his best to help you pull up your grade and re-explains things if you ask him to. crazy eyes. nice guy, though.

You can drop your lowest score if you sign a contract and there are extra credit opportunities. SAVE YOUR MONEY-DON'T BUY THE BOOK!!! All test material comes from lectures... he'll say initially that 30% comes from the reading-not true.. if he doesn't lecture it, he doesn't count it on the test. He also gives pletnty of examples. TAKE HIM!

He's a great teacher. He gives good examples, and makes all the material really easy to understand. I would definitely take another class from him, he's one of the best professors i had this term.

aalbers isnt to hard you dont have to class or use your book at all, he does use good examples. draw backs are he sometimes rants and makes no sense, but i would take him again

Very good prof. Very easy class, attendance not mandatory, but if you want an A go to class. He makes everything very clear, and I never had to read the book at all. I would definately recommend him. By the way, he gives you an option to drop your lowest test score if you go to class everyday, definately a good idea. Again Good prof.

BEST PROFESSOR AT CMU!!!! He knows his stuff, he makes it all interesting, kinda goofy, and VERY easy to talk to and get help from. All you had to do for class was take notes, study a little, then take the easy tests! YOU CAN'T GET A BETTER PROFESSOR!!!!

Dan is an amazing professor. He is extremely willing to help students outside of class and his lectures are really interesting. He also throws in tons of awful jokes that start to grow on you after a while. I would definitely take him again!

He is a wonderful teacher! You need to take him! Some people find him hard but they don't want to work and try in his class! He offers EC and will always help you when you ask!

He is a really good teacher that loves his job! Im not a big fan of psych, and im doing just fine in his class. You dont have to study much, just go over your notes! I suggest Dan as your prof!

I did not like him for this class at all. I know some professors use Powerpoints to help with their lectures when they go over a lot or at least are helpful with showing things but it was just constant talk and just hard to really do both, test was on everything he said plus book. He isn't a bad guy but I just did not like this class.

Very good prof. Take notes and you'll be all set. No homework, offers extra credit. Grade is based on 5 exams. Our class failed a test and he gave us a retake, what professor does that? He also dropped our lowest test grade if we signed a contract to go all semester to class. He's fair and fun. I like him a lot.

Good teacher who puts the student first. Good availability, and provides plenty of opportunities for students to succeed.

I loved this class because of the professor I had. He explained his lectures very clearly and related topics to the class by using modern examples. The class was based on just tests with a few extra credit assignments on the side. The tests were based on the notes he gave in class, although there were a few questions that stemmed from the book.

This class is all over the place! He teaches all from lecture and usually you don't understand what he is saying until you look over the book. You never know what chapter your on, and I believe the last test was over seven when we thought we did two, that was a rude awakening. If you want better than a B- OR C is pysch, not reccommended.

I thought he was a very interesting and generally just a very nice guy. He did recommend that you read a ridiculous amount but all the test questions came directly from his lectures. The first test was really hard but the rest were rather easy. You only get four grades in the class and he gives you more oppertunities for e.c. than you can handle.

Personally, I liked this professor. He did alot of review before the test, was always available if you had questions, and honestly, he didn't grade his papers too hard (I got a 100% on mine). A few test questions were tricky, but everything on the tests he went over in class and its all in the book. He also gave plenty of opportunity for EC.

He seems kind of odd at first but he is a nice guy and goofy as well :) He tells jokes and they usually aren't too funny but because they aren't...it's funny! Exams are from lectures and if you study the notes, you will be fine!

Not very clear on the topics at times and his tests are really difficult. Know the book and everything that he says in class. I was looking forward to this class and it ended up being the class that I hated most!

this guy is not very helpful at all... i went to every class and his office hours and i still had no clue what was going on... he is really confusing and hard to understand... i would pick any other Prof. other than him for PSY 100. its not a hard class but he has no clue what he is talking about. one of the worst prof. i have had.

I went to this class the first day. It was a lecture hall. He assigned a RIDICULOUS amount of reading for the very first class. The class is based on his lectures. I dropped the class right after the first day. This guy is a NERD. A real tool

For the most part his lectures are interesting. I wouldn't miss many classes because his tests are mostly based on his lecture. He is very nice and wants the best for his students. He also is very open to his students ideas and wants to hear from them and have class interactioin. I would deff. recomend him!

Overall a good professor. Explains things well. Tests are kinda hard. You better be good at taking notes because he does not put much on the board. I would recommend it for a UP course.

He's funny...I think he's a good professor.

He is a nice guy and flexible however, it is true you need to know all the material for the test. You may find yourself a little bored if you have the 2 day a week class since it is longer but he gives a break to regain attention. His tests are fairly easy so you can't really complain

He is an all right teacher but gives out no study guides or quizzes. His tests are all right but kind of on the difficult side. He wants you to study and learn everything possible for the tests so he won't tell you what will be on test in specifics. If you get him, I hope you like and understand psych, otherwise you are in for a surprise.
