she was the best prof i ever had.. she demands a lot from you although that is exactly what you need to pursue a career esp in biology. its not like you can attend biology like a literature class or anything you need commitment and lots of help which she is ready to provide anytime. do you work and the grades will come automatically.

Lisa is by far the best professor I've had. She relates everything she teaches to real life situations. She's extremely clear and organized. In her summer class, we have three exams, three days in a row, along with case studies. She spends hours after class grading them so we can get our grades the same day. Students are obviously her priority.

Memorize the book if you want her to like you. Although your chances are low if you are not white. She's willing to help her favorite students over those that she doesn't really like!.

She is tough,in every possible/single way. A tough grader; I feel like she enjoys taking points off for whatever little mistake, when she, herself makes mistakes. The class was fun and interesting but she doesn't give you an enviroment that you can enjoy without too much pressure coming from her. She totally has favorite students.

Lisa is an awesome teacher. She delivers the material in a way you will definitely understand. I had no interest in biology prior to her class, and now I want to take more. :) She's really nice

As an instructor, she is straightforward and helpful. I have learned more in this class than I've learned in any class ever. As a grader, she is extremely tough and small mistakes will make or break your grade.

The material is not easy, but Lisa will help you with anything you are having difficulty with. She is a very helpful and nice professor. The lectures are great and make the material more understandable.

She's the only one who taught Microbio the year I took it. If you decide to take this class then be ready to commit more time than you could imagine for one class. Don't be surprised if you don't get a good grade. She has extremely high demands both in lecture and in lab. I felt her expectations were pretty unreasonable. She's not that great.

Class is very hard. Materials are hard, exams are extremely tough, and she's a tough grader too. Would not post class average so we'd don't know how we did as a class, would not curve. Our class started out with 60 students with now 25 students left, there must be something wrong here if there are so many students drop or failing from the class.

very tough teacher. be prepared for low averages and her telling you she wont curve but in the end she will. she definitely has "favorite" students. someone recommended me to take her but she has just changed... one of the worst professors i've experienced.

Exhausting class to take. Not only does Lisa expect you to memorize the textbook, but she also expects you to devote half of your waking life in lab. Given the choice between two full time jobs or this class, I would pick the two jobs. Grades are harsh. She's essay question happy and will deduct more points than what the question is worth if wrong.

Coming from a state school for a summer course, I did not know what to expect when attending a community college. I found this professor was excellent in teaching and explaining the material in a effective manor. She tends to students and offers help to anyone that will is willing to learn. She is full of information in the field, highly recommend

Lisa definately has alot of material to teach you but even if the class spends a majority of the time asking questions she will answer. The tests are hit or miss with questions but are overall concepts with attention to detail. She's extremely helpful in the lab and helps way more than Tari JOhnson did. I liked Lisa and is probably the best to take

Lisa was amazing. I go to school full time at Bethel University and their biology classes were WAY too difficult for me. I found "intro to emerging diseases" very interesting (for someone that sucks at biology classes). Study hard and ask questions, she will take the time to help you understand the material. I did well in her class, and so can you

Most definitely worth taking, always responds promptly with accuracy, and good availability in office/lab, don't expect an easy grade though

"A" students SHOULD expect a "B", this class is no joke at all, you need alot of time to do the work and labs. tests are hard. alot of people fail or drop out.

Lisa is a superb professor - proficiently explains difficult concepts, patiently and thoroughly answers questions, and consistently provides help and encouragement. "A" students should NOT expect a "B." If you consistently work hard, her tests are straight forward and reflect the material covered. Non-majors should avoid this class, however.
