Dr. Sitara was very well prepared and really knew her subject. Very engaging lecturer with a great sense of humour. Very fair marker. Most interesting history course taken yet.

Go to class, take notes, and you will be golden! She is the sweetest prof and genuinely cares about each of her students. Interesting guest speakers and a very enjoyable class. I will take future courses just because she is teaching them!

Amazingly made me have an interest in Canadian history. One of the most caring people you will ever meet, and definitely the most supportive professor you can expect to have. Very easily approached and willing to lend a hand or discuss any material.

Dr. Sitara is the most caring professor you will ever encounter. Takes the time to learn everyone's names and starts every class thanking you for showing up and to say she's so happy to see you. Very flexible on due dates, asked for a day extension gave me 2 weeks. I would take absolutely any class if she were the teacher.

Assigned way too much reading, and only discussed a select few, but it was all required material to know on the midterm and the final. Spent entire classes watching movies and quickly fell behind. When asked for help finding sources, sent me back sources I already told her I was using. Very frustrating class and prof.

Such a good class. Almost no homework, a creative project instead of a midterm, and a takehome final. She's a little bit crazy, and she's not very good at answering questions. But she's very flexible with due dates and is always willing to help. Love her and love this class!

She is passionate. I loved her. She knows a lot about the subject at hand and ensures help if you seek it. She memorized everyone's named and it's clear she gives a lot of effort. If you do the readings and do what she says you will get flying colours. Course was amazing! Recommend to everyone, it was very enlightening. Gives back work in time.

One of the great profs of UVic's History Department. Take this course, you will not regret it! Probably the best experience I had while taking my degree. Sitara is head and shoulders above the rest.

Dr. Sitara is the most passionate professor I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. She has the unique ability to get me excited about coming to a morning class, and can hold my attention for the hour. She is incredibly helpful and understanding, and puts her students first, without fail.

She's a little off her rocker. But overall she is nice, she wants you to do well if she sees you putting in an effort. Great prof for a seminar can't image her in a lecture.

Seems like a nice lady, but a terrible professor. Her opinions are HIGHLY subjective which is extremely problematic in writing essays and participating in discussion in her class. Interesting lectures, fair marking (IF she agrees with you...) but very one sided in her arguments.

Excellent professor--brilliant and engaging mind. Course content is unique and she's a tough marker. Will sign up for another of her courses if I can.

While I have heard great things from Sitara's fan club, I am not a member. She tends to only accept views that parallel her own and tends to not fully listen and understand what students are saying in discussion. Also, if you are writing a paper for her and she suggests readings, USE THEM BECAUSE OTHERWISE SHE WILL DOCK YOU MARKS.

Very reasonable with extensions and deadlines, loves to get to know students and interact with them, always very open and helpful, passionate about the topics, and places a lot of emphasis on the readings

Super nice and helpful. Would do anything for her students. Gives you final exam answers and discusses them with the class. Quite a bit of textbook use but talks over them in class. Would take another class with her for her alone.

Georgia is a nice professor and cares about her students. Her courses are well worth taking, though they may be best suited for you if you find writing easy/enjoyable— they contain lots of writing. It is worth it.

Georgia is a tough but fair marker. Being in her class has made me a better history student. If you don't want your beliefs challenged, stay clear. If you're ready to engage in interesting thought processes about real issues, sign up. You'll be glad you did.

Don't fall into the trap of believing the few good reviews, I did and have regretted it since. She is disorganized, scatterbrained, a complete nut. She does not respect other people's opinions, unless they are exactly like hers. Exams were dumb, her grading was subjective. Participation in discussion means nothing unless you agree with her.

Dr. Sitara is a very passionate lecturer, and it shows. Although I'm a little concerned by the course content (should be a sociology class, not history)I really have nothing but praise for a very effective, approachable, prof.

Georgia was the most wonderful amazing prof I had all year. She is kind, respectful, understanding, and extremely motivating. She is super intelligent and very energetic about what she is teaching. She made it easy to learn, and get involved. I would recommend her to any student! Just a lovely lady all around :)
