Really being in lecture was useless. Most of what he talked about was unrelated to the homework. He's all over the place and makes basic algebra mistakes all the time. The textbook is all you need for his class. He just makes everything so confusing if you go to lecture.

Ressler was undoubtably the worst teacher I have had at F&M. He is extremely picky about how you answer questions. You can get every aspect of a problem correct, but lose a lot of points simply because you did not write it the way he wants. Moreover, Ressler is bad at explaining the concepts. He has no idea how to actually teach the material.

Professor Ressler was a nice enough guy, but was honestly one of the worst teachers I have ever had. He really had no idea how to gauge the level of understanding of the students in the class. He basically just lectured directly from the textbook, which is terrible in a math class.

Miserable class. He would not budge to help me at all. The class was boring and repetitive. The biggest real challenge was keeping my head off the desk. His tendency to take off substantial points for not doing things exactly his way was also infuriating.

I am a math major that has never had much trouble in math courses at F&M up until this point. The grading is harsh and the proofs are long. While some of this is just the nature of Analysis, Ressler is giving me the hardest class I've ever taken here.

Dr. Ressler is an all-around solid professor. Although he isn't the most interesting prof you'll ever have, he explains things quite clearly and always goes through good examples in class. If you go to his office hours he is extremely helpful. If you keep up with his homework and make sure you understand everything, you'll do fine.

This is the worst professor I have ever had. He focuses on minute details and takes point off for that. If it were not for my major requirement,I wish I had never taken his class. He will ruin your confidence in Mathematics. He believes no one is perfect other than himself in this world.

terrible professor. unclear and unorganized. instead of teaching how to solve math problems, he's confusing you to another level. not human beings, he requires you to go to class even you have a fever unless you are on medical leave.

Straightforward. Doesn't try to trick you. Exams reflect what is taught and as long as you keep up you will be fine. Explanations are quite clear and doesn't resort to the textbook for teaching concepts. Know how to do all the problems he assigns (not many) and you will probably get an A on the exam. Daily quizes are good for your grade, trust me.

Notes are very clear and organized. Exams are straight forward. Daily quizzes are annoying but make you study throughout the semester so studying for an exam is less stressful.

This man is the worst professor I have ever had. He gave daily quizzes on material that he never explained well and most of the class was spent telling us about how much he loved to ride his bike and the number of snow days that his kids had. Awful professor and an even worse person.
