Dr. Russell is smart and awesome. He seems mean at first, but it is only because he wants to prepare his students for the business world. Also, not going to lie. It didn't hurt having to look at his T.A., Erica, all class period long.

Avoid taking this class. He is a doosch. Tests are extremely difficult. I went to class everyday, took notes, and read the material. Best grade on an exam so far is 74%, the wording of the questions are ridiculous. Smart guy, terrible teacher.

Brian thinks that he is so special because of his Ph.D, MBA, and JD, and references this quite often in his class. He is quite rude if you contact him about a problem you are having with the class, and even says in the syllabus that you should drop the class if you are having problems, versus helping students solve their problems.

Okay class... have to go but pretty easy otherwise. His TAs are HOT though (Sean Cahill ;)) Must read the book for the tests.

I would highly recommend taking his class over the summer rather than during the school year. I dropped out of the fall section of this class and re-took it in the summer. His teaching style in the summer is much warmer and engaging. Also, since the tests usually just recall lecture information, the exams are much easier.

This class should be called: Dr. Russell's accomplishments and stories. Although he is a very accomplished person he's not a very good teacher. During lectures he often side tracks to tell stories of his friends which makes it very hard to take effective notes. The test questions are also very confusing with ambiguous choices.

He acts like a bigshot because he is on TV, and thats how he teaches his class, like he is doing a tv show which is horrible... its almost impossible to take relevant notes because he switches topics and goes off on random stories. tests are online take home tests so they aren't too bad other than his confusing wording.

This class was the worst class I have ever taken. He is a jerk and shouldn't be teaching. He also sucks with giving lectures and none of his test questions are worded in a clear way. DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!!!!

I found this class to be very interesting compared to the other business minor classes at KU. Dr. Russell does seem like a **** but he makes the class interesting. Go To class, take notes, do the quizzes.

SUPER HARD CLASS! I've had three tests, took good notes, went to every lecture... 70% or lower. I'm an A/B student, but this class is f'ing ridiculous. Worst class I've taken at KU for being one I've learned the most.

Required Coms class, just don't take with him if you can avoid at all cost! TA's didn't even know what was going on in the class. He is an absurd man and I gave him one of the worst teacher evaluations I have ever gave at KU!

Not a hard class if you go and do the work. He is the very self-centered, but if you can look past that he really is a good teacher and has some good experiences to share.

He is so strict in grading. My advise. Don't take his class. You will suffer emotionally forever.

I hated this class. I thought his tests were way too wordy and hard even though they were open book, open note tests. Did not like this class at all.

Brian appears very full of himself, it is almost embarrassing to witness as the class cringes at him. The class consists of online quizzes and tests, the tests contain some ambiguous questions. Not sure why there were 3 TA's sitting up the front of the class reassuring Brian with smiles of encouragement it seemed. Attendance unnecessary.

This professor is really interesting, he does lots of things to keep his students interested with guest speakers, etc. he expects a lot out of us, and makes us work hard, but the benefit is...you learn! this teacher is awesome, and i totally recommend him to anyone taking a minor in business to change your schedule around to get him!

The only thing easy to spot than the answers on his test, would be his ego. The guy majored in himself and minored in psych. He thinks he is still in college and tries to be the center of attention at all times, mostly to the detriment of the classroom. Amazingly, easy class though, and the guy is fun to laugh at.

Never went and got an easy A. All of his tests/quizzes are online so going to class is a joke. About 70% or more of his exam questions are word for word from past online tests. Get together with a group of students and take the test together for best results.
