He is a really nice and helpful professor. He teaches well and genuinely wants his students to succeed in life. That being said, he likes to test "higher thinking skills" and I'm pretty sure escaping a rabid wolf would be easier than his exams. The class is amazing, but be prepared for the difficulty of exams.

His course is designed to train your cramming skill. Lots of detailed questions in the exam, so even if you start preparing for the test one week ahead of the test, you won't be able to answer all the questions. He did his best by jamming all the knowledge in you mind in lectures and the rest work is all yours. "renowned" hard class+lab.

Sherry is a really nice guy and cares about his students but on the contrary he is a subpar teacher. ZERO clarity, tests are vague, gives little direction as to material. Difficult class that I thought I would enjoy. Struggling to do well.

Dr. Sherry is a very nice guy and he's super passionate. Tests are pretty hard, the TA's grade them very particularly too, sometimes too much. Check your test answers that he posts in the hall. I have a problem with keeping students over time every single day in class because it just seems very disrespectful toward the students, in my opinion.

Dr. Sherry is very nice and helpful, but his lectures are just boring a lot of the time. Exams are detailed, but they always have extra credit points to make up for it. The problem sets really do take 6-8 hours, so don't do them the night before! Ecology makes a good science writing-intensive, although Sherry is pretty tough on grading papers.

Decent professor. His slides are often hard to read, and he is less interesting and organized than Heins. Very nice and willing to answer questions.

class is SO boring and the material is not easy if it's your first ecology class. he usually doesn't take attendance unless the class gets really low like it did a few times towards the end of the semester.

Really fun teacher, makes the course material interesting. Tends to rush through lectures. Don't rely on the textbook for tests, lectures are more important.

Sherry loves the field, but his class is so boring. Test material is pretty much straight off the slides. You don't have to go to class, but he knows if you miss. I'm in the class because i need it for my major, but others in my class who are into conservation enjoy the class

Had him for both ecology(404) and evolution (308). basically reads off powerpoints for class so can be kind of boring at times. all notes are online so a lot of the class didn't actually show up. really friendly and helpful. tests are intensive (short answers/essay and graph interpretations ect) but he builds tons of extra points so an A is easy.

Very nice guy, he loves his field. There is a lot of information and it is mostly off the slides. Tests are hard, but he puts quite a few extra points on it so that you can not answer all the questions and still get 100%. Although not many there are required outside readings. He's picky on wording sometimes. Overall, good class, learned a lot.
