He is an extremely good professor. Class is not mandatory, but highly recommended because the notes he writes are very useful on the tests. Clas is not EASY, but it is not as hard as he makes it sound.

A really intelligent, kind, and helpful man. Listen to what he says in class and UNDERSTAND it. If you listen, you will understand it. Go to class. Only way you'll understand this stuff. Amazing teacher.

Good teacher for philosophy. Some may find him boring because he does speak greatly in detail, but that helps w/notes. Only 3 main grades in the class and as long as you pay attention you are fine. Doesn't take attendance but being there helps greatly. He's a cute older guy who makes little jokes. Usually lets out early! Deff a good one

Best phil teacher you can find! Such a nice man. Take him. You will gain knowledge and understand the topics. Going to class is important but will be worth it once you understand philosophical things you never thought you could. Worth the class!!!

1000 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

His class is SUPER boring. I fall asleep all the time. Only took attendance during first few classes, but it's best to go because all his notes are pretty much the answers to the tests. There are readings, usually 20 pages. A midterm, research paper, and final. Pretty decent class.

he is a great philosophy teacher. i would suggest having a coffee before class as he tends to speak very low and is sometimes monotone. take your laptop to class and type up everything he says. his midterm and finals are class notes word for word. great class. the paper grade gets drooped if it does not help GPA. great guy and very nice.

PHI 1000C Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Barely cracked it open Rater Interest: Low Grade Received: N/A

He's not as easy as I expected (went on this website and read comments before taking him). Only 2 test (midterm and final) one 8-10 paper on a easy topic. You will have trouble reading his hand writing. He makes funny jokes sometimes and attendance isn't mandatory, but he writes everything on the board so it would be best to go.

If you put the effort in to come to class and listen, the class itself will be interesting. Participating makes it interesting as well. Term paper is pretty lengthy but a great grade bump if you do well! For the tests, know your stuff. As in.. read his notes and the readings assigned.

I took this class, because I heard it was easy, but ITS NOT. There are only two test and a term paper that counts for less than 20% of your grade. Pretty nice guy, he is willing to explain, YOU cant read his hand writing. Test are essay questions. Attendace not mandatory, but I dont please attend! Also guy, he always says things that get me thinking

Doesnt take attendence but you should go bc he writes down EVEERYTHING thatll be on the exams on the board. Sit close bc his hand writing is hard to read. Midterm, paper and final. Not a super hard class but you NEED to study or seek tutoring.Really nice older guy and always willing to help.

Good guy. Attendance isn't mandatory, but in order to do well you have to come to class and take notes. He writes down important things on the board making it easier to know what to take as notes. I suggest him as an intro philosophy course

this guy was a great philosophy teacher. if you wanna get an A its pretty simple... write down everything he writes on the board (not that much) and you should virtually memorize and at the very least understand the things and im telling you its not that hard to do. Those are the keys to getting an A. You dont even have to go just get the notes

TAKE HIM. His class is very clear and he teaches in a straight forward way. Does not take attendance, but worth going. As long as you take good notes on the board and listen you'll do great. Tests exactly on notes no surprises. I barely studied he explained that well. Great guy, tells good jokes. 1 midterm, 1 final and 1 paper. Awesome class.

He canceled class @ least 5 times, and often let us out early. Attendance isnt mandatory but you need 2 come 2 take notes 2 study them for exams. Therefore the book isnt necessary since he sums everything up and its hard reading. 1 midterm, 1 paper, and a final. I got an A on the midterm C on paper and bombed the final becuz I didnt study. Got a B+

Knows his stuff but very very boring you literally fall asleep. The textbooks themselves are soo boring and hard to read. Don't take him. Taking notes is hard because he has a terrible handwriting and he talks to the board most of the time.

Professor Sklarin is a great philosophy teacher. Just write the notes down and you'll be fine. You might want to grab a seat in the front since he writes pretty small. The class can get a tad boring though. I never read anything from the textbook but I just studied my notes before the midterm and final and did well. The term paper was easy.

This man knows his stuff! I will admit that he writes extremely small so it's hard to read the notes but they are incredibly clear and he is more than willing to help out. The class is not boring if you devote the 55 to listen and take notes because I did just that and got A's on everything and missed at least 12 classes. Attendance is not required

Sklarin's good at what he teaches. He gives a midterm, final, and paper (towards the end of the semester). Never read the book, which sometimes I wished I had. He gives a lot of notes that would be enough to pass his exams. I recommend attending class because it will definitely help you in passing his exams.
