The worst and most disorganized teacher I have EVER encountered at APU. This probably had to do with this year being her first year at APU, but either way she often showed up late, assigned us things and changed the dates, was VERY unclear in explaining directions, lost our tests, made meetings with us over MASS emails and didnt show up.DO NOT TAKE

Great teacher, teaches not only the language but also whats needed to know of each country, very well done and actually enjoyed her class very much! you'll definitely enjoy this class

In my entire college career I have never met a better teacher. She is concise intelligent and kind. she gives of her time and her heart. She makes difficult concepts easy to understand and builds her students confidence with a lot of praise. SHE'S THE BEST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD

Mayer is the most caring and funniest teacher I have taken at PCC. She interacts very well with the students and makes the class enjoyable. She spoils us with food too! Take her class you won't regret it. She made Spanish a breeze for me when I had trouble with it in high school.

Maria is a great professor, very funny and cares deeply about students' performance. Her teaching is unorthodox, which made the class fun and exciting. She would also bring Latin food for us to sample. I took SPAN I back in Jan '06 so I had to play catch-up, but I've managed to acquire a solid B while working full time. Very very generous w/grading

Cared greatly about student learning. Extensive use of Spanish in class.Careful review of student work.Fair tests-not 2 2 hard.AMAZING understanding of linguistics & history of language. Hip lady, thought-provoking questions, careful 2 avoid student burnout. Would take her again and again if I could. One of best profs EVER(post UCLA,UChicago).

She's smart as a whip and funny. Very good teacher, although the quizzes are sometimes confusing.
