"Lectures are long" "Papers? More like novels" "Participation matters"

Professor Grooms has the magic vocal combination of Morgan Freeman and Barry White, which at times can hurt him a little bit. His lectures are very long winded, and at times it comes across as him just listening to his own voice. For a writing class (this being the 4th that I've taken) it was pretty garden-variety. Workshops weren't very helpful.

Engl 5000 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Meh Grade Received: N/A

The whole semester we spent all our time preparing for a project due at the end of the year. Unclear on directions for assignments. Will surprise you with the grade at the end then makes himself unavailable due to a "business trip" Very monotone and boring.

THE EASIEST CLASS I'VE EVER TAKEN! I read nothing. Not one thing and got an A in the class. He explains everything in class and gives you all the questions and answers before the final. He gave two other assignments that were very easy. He also cancelled our last paper and gave us all 100s (25% of our grade). And he is a very nice guy! TAKE HIM!!!

ENGL2110 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: Essential to passing Rater Interest: Sorta interested Grade Received: N/A

If you're a literary history nerd, you'll absolutely love this class. It's very interesting if you keep an open mind, but some find the material boring. He gave two assignments and a test. Grades fairly, is very kind, and willing to help. By *FAR* my favorite English professor I've ever had. Hands down. Take him!

Nice guy and willing to work with you on your papers. He talks for ever and it gets boring at times but his grading is fair.

Prof. Grooms is very nice, but a little long winded at times. He provides a lot of insight to the art of writing prose. I found the workshop part of the class to be the most fun and informative. Because of the nature of the class, there aren't very many assignments, which frees up more time to write or focus on other classes.
