So here's the deal. These comments are useless because Calinescu is going to teach at Yale. I am not sad at all to see her go. Her grading is the most unfair I have ever seen. "Do exist such a and b?" I guess that's what you get with a Russian teacher. Honestly, I am glad OSU will never see her again. Her final was ridiculous, 14 problems.

Could not disagree with the person below more. I think a lot of people liked her but I did not. Yes she's a decent lecturer but is a very unfair grader and is not very personable. Don't ever get part A wrong on tests or you'll get it wrong multiple times. Very lengthy final with no time-cap. Class is not curved at all.

Hot teacher, and also very fair. Actually puts a time cap on exams (if she can do them in 10 minutes, they're short enough). I think that's a good thing :) I'm sick of not finishing exams.

Decent lecturer for a math class, homework and midterms were very, very easy.

Hottest teacher I've had at OSU. Otherwise, she is a decent professor. Material isn't too difficult.

Not bad. She's helpful and you can tell she's interested in teaching and the material, and she tries to help students. HW and exams are pretty easy. Despite this, still one of the worst classes I've ever taken. You might think from the title that you do applications: you'd be wrong. Get ready to learn theory.

She is hard to understand...talks quietly and does not seem to have much common sense...only goes through examples she has prepped prior to class

It's kind of hard to understand her at first. She goes very fast when she does examples on the transparency so make sure you raise your hand and tell her to slow down. She also talks very low, so if you want to hear her well, sit in the front few rows. Honestly, if your TA is good at explaining things, you don't need to go to lecture.

Can't do any problems not already done on a transparency. Aside from that, very average.
