Not great, she misattributed quotes and ideas, had disorganised slides, focussed on the wrong thinkers and would gloss over important topics then explain common knwoedge things. She either thinks all her students are stupid or else she is just condescending. And she's one of those profs who tries to do socratic teaching in a big lecture hall.

POLISCI 2237 Taken for Credit:N/A Attendance: N/A Textbook Use: What textbook? Rater Interest: Really into it Grade Received: N/A

She's a lovely woman and a fantastic prof, you really have to pay attention to her lectures and you'll understand the material. She travels a lot for presentations so she missed a few lectures. Her evaluation (two essays and a quiz, no exam) was really effective, I feel like I've learned a lot more than if i crammed for an exam.

Sweet woman but dull lectures. Good in the philosophical field but rarely incorporates much politics into the course.

The most rewarding experience of my graduate degree. She infuses her expertise in Critical Studies and Political Theory (Nietzsche, Foucault, et al) with brilliant novelty and refreshing accessibility. My confidence soared as a result of her clarity, patience, and encouragement. Nandita epitomizes the postmodernist UWO so desperately needs more of.

Not a fan of this prof, feminism comes roaring through in her lectures, often changing things like Plato's philosopher-king to 'philosopher-queen' completely unnecessarily. If you can identify with feminism, then you will like her, otherwise don't take a class with this prof.

A truly gifted professor who is passionate about her subject and extremely helpful. One of those rare professors who can make you feel good even if you have just made a really stupid observation and answered a question incorrectly. She is always 'up' and cheerful. Classes just flew by.

Speaks eloquently. Exudes confidence. Can teach well! Professor Biswas Mellamphy is what professorship is all about. Among one of the best at Western for sure.

She was very easy to listen too.. However, the material we covered at the beginning of the year was too easy (learned most of it in first year) and we went through it at snail pace. Then, the material in the second semester was HARD and we sped through it.. I do not think the TA's were very helpful though and the marking was sometimes unfair.

Professor Biswas takes the boredom of political theory to a whole other level. She reads off her slides, pauses frequently & talks to us in her whiny voice like we're 5 years old. She essentially delivers us a watered down lesson in Greek history, not real theory.

My 2 favorite courses @ Western were 1 in Political Theory and 1 in Literary Theory; it turned out that the 1st was taught by professor Biswas Mellamphy and the 2nd by her husband, Dan. If you don't like (Political) Theory, (Political) Theatre, (Poli) Philosophy, go elsewhere. If you do, take their courses: they'll seriously alter the way you think

she's a really nice and helpful professor, although hard, this course is mandatory for a poli sci major, therefore, must be taken, lectures are enjoyable, tutorials were not, however, she is a very nice prof with great interest into political theory

Was very passionate but about the wrong things, she loves philosophers, but we are a class of poli sci. She gets hung up on the deep seated meaning of greek words, and tests on their meaning and spelling, not on the political significance, very sad, never taking theory again.

If you are interested in politics, do not take a class with this prof. She has no idea what politics is, and chooses to concentrate on useless philosophers because she likes them. She belongs in the Philosophy Department, not in Political Sciences.
