Such an awesome professor! He makes hard topics easier to understand and boring topics of a lot more interesting! His notes were clear but you may want to add some extra side notes to them for your own understanding. Exams were somewhat challenging but fair; he would not add anything onto the exams that were not covered in the notes or lecture.

"Tests? Not many" "Tests are tough"

1 Midterm, 1 Final, both a huge chunk of your grade. All the info you need is spoon-fed to you in lectures, but you have to know it back-to-front to APPLY it in the exams. If you do, it'll seem straightforward. Don't waste your time reading the text - you're ONLY tested on lecture material, so study the shat out of his slides and you're golden.

Amazing prof! He's really funny and has amazing notes! Parrish also give practice questions. The exams are very hard though. You get a midterm and a final, and that's it! Make sure to read VERY carefully and know all the details.

He is by far the best prof I have ever had in my undergrad. He's funny at times and just simple awesome. This course is hard and frustrating at times, but JP made it very enjoyable!! Would take him again anyday.

Dr. Parrish is wonderful! He is very enthusiastic and engaging and he made lectures as enjoyable as he could while still getting through everything. Midterm was awful, lots of people were very pressed for time. The final was better so don't let its worth of 60% scare you! Lots of material to stay on top of but I would definitely recommend JP!

Best professor I have ever had hands down. Fantastic-- very passionate about the subject, readily answers emails, and motivated me to take more biochemistry. I have nothing but positive things to say-- the class was interesting, and dr. Parrish was the best!

JP is awesome!!! He genuinely cares and he made attending a 9am class very enjoyable. If you are confused ask questions as this course is very content heavy due to the fact that the final is worth 60% and is multiple choice. His clicker questions and extra help sessions are wonderful! Definitely take him over the others. Also his fashion rocks ;)

Pretty straightforwards class, lots of marks I lost were due to reading, so read carefully! Dr. Parrish is pretty clear in class, though not always. He didn't answer my emails very quickly, but his answers were good. Breakdown: 2 20% midterms, 15% assignments, 5% iClicker, 40% final. Overall Dr. Parrish was funny and nice, and a good prof

Dr. Parrish is an awesome professor; he's hilarious and his class is tons of fun. Make sure you show up and take good notes. He explains concepts pretty clearly and knows his stuff. The course itself is challenging so make sure you stay on top of the work. You cannot go wrong if Dr. Parrish is your lecturer!

Dr. Parrish was a great prof, he was clear and explained the notes thoroughly. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about biochem which helped. Midterm was very hard, but final was much more manageable. Attendance is mandatory as he explains topics more clearly than the notes, writing in the margins helped. Good prof though, highly recommend.

I feel like though hes a pretty good prof, helpful, and tries hard, he really doesn't actually care that much about how his students do. Considering the midterm/final are shared between profs, he does not give his students hints about how or what to study (the other prof did). Bioch was okay but definitely not a course I super enjoyed. HARD MIDTERM

5% iClicker participation, 35% midterm, 60% final. Exam material based off notes, but textbook helped explain concepts which couldn't be expanded on in class. That being said, Parrish is an amazing prof! He's always enthusiastic and willing to help students. Makes class enjoyable. Final was fair, but marks are high so definitely know your material.

Awesome prof! Good notes, and explains concepts really well. Iclicker questions were really helpful, and class is mandatory anyways to supplement his notes with what he says. Exams are hard but they are the same through all sections . Would definitely recommend overall!

Great prof! Lectured well and his notes were nicely organized. Also answered board posts and emails promptly. I like the way he distributed the grades in the class (three 15% MTs, 5 online assignments worth 10% in total, 45% final). It's not hard to get a good grade in his class as long as you put in the work.

Dr. Parrish is a good prof and majority of the notes are complete. He goes through the material in a lot of detail but focus on the points in the notes. Tests are specific so make sure to know everything to get the A. Helpful during office hours. He is a happy prof.

Parrish is great :) He takes his time explaining material and uses really good analogies to make concepts clear. He's funny and managed to make biochem class enjoyable. Exams are difficult and marks are competitive, but just study his notes (and make good notes in class) and ask questions if you have them.

One of the best profs I've had. Explained concepts crystal clear, just used to textbook to solidify the information. The class isn't hard at all if you have some previous knowledge of biology. Midterms and final are all fair but read carefully. Makes class fun, has a great sense of humour! Definitely take him.

Funny guy. Boring Class. He is silly in his own way and tries his best to make it interesting. He posts the notes up so you don't REALLY need to go to class. But if you want to ace it I guess you should.
