THEO2410
Dr. Maguire is pretty left-leaning, and I'm not really sure what Theology was taught in his class. This wasn't necessarily a bad thing though, since he is really funny and gives all of his exam questions beforehand. A pretty entertaining and interesting class, all-in-all.

He has his views, but he's open for debate. His lectures are thought-provoking and at times funny. Exam questions are given at the beginning of the semester, paper is pass or fail. Not hard but you do need to show your thinking in essays, he can spot bs. One of the MU courses I've enjoyed the most.

Maguire does make the class a little politically charged, but if you're not all about theology and just need the credit then this is surely a good thing. He has extreme views, but he's brilliant, articulate, and pretty funny. Plus, the class isn't too hard, just a lot of lectures and then writing for the tests.

Maguire is a theologian and therefore he is qualified to teach theology. Unfortunately, religion takes a backseat to his socialist ranting which-I must admit-can be entertaining. As the semester progresses it becomes clear that Maguire is a little too pleased with himself. This becomes sickly when he lampoons Mother Teresa and the Catholic Church.

Basically spends class telling stories to illustrate his points, usually pretty funny. Sometimes repeats stories he's already told, but he's old so I guess that's expected. Three short essay exams, and he gives you the questions before.
