This man has the great ability to make an incomprehensible subject, such as philosophy is percieved to be, and make it understandable. If you've never taken a Philosophy class and are looking to take one, take any course he teaches. Don't even worry about the course level.

Mark Thorsby's Philosophy of Literature course is fantastic. He knows how to lecture very well, breaking down and bringing to life complicated material. He is very enthusiastic and very helpful. He challenges students while also lively involving them in the subject creating a stimulating atmosphere rich of intellectual discourse. A thrill!

He follows the textbook and gives out handouts. I enjoyed his class. His tests are directly from the lectures and book so attendance is a must to get an A. He may help you with extra credit.

The class was somewhat interesting. He didn't always finish his lectures due to time running out, but he never tested on anything he didn't teach. As long as you attend lecture and pay attention, you'll do well. He always gave study guides before quizzes and tests which was very helpful.
