Great teacher. Very flexible. Test were not hard as long as you actually put some time and effort into his class. Great passion for subject made for a great semester. Take this class you won't regret it.

A fun guy, but his tests are HARD. Make sure to study extensively. Other than that, it's a fun class with a lot of hands-on assignments to keep you engaged.

Astronomy lab was very easy - if you go. Parke is willing to help you with any questions you have, and each test or exam is taken with an open lab notebook. That means that if you go to the lab and do the work, you will have the either the answers or the exact process to get the answers right in front of you. Easy A.

Parke is one of the greatest college professors I've ever had. He's fun, inspiring, and has a genuine interest in his job. His enthusiasm is infectious. I highly recommend his Astronomy class to anyone who loves science. He did a great job of making the class easy enough for beginners, without being too basic or boring. Rock on Parke. You rule!

Best professor I've had at MCTC by far. I struggle with math and he made it so easy and was extremely helpful during every class. He keeps the lectures entertaining and gets to know every student in class by name. Excellent teacher!

Parke is passionate, knowledgeable, and an all around wonderful person. By far my favorite professor of my entire college career. If you've ever had the slightest interest in astronomy, his classes will blow your mind! He makes learning interesting and interactive. I honestly wish I could take his class again and again!

Hes one of the most passionate teachers at MCTC and it shows in the way he teaches and treats his students. His homework is easy, while some of his project assignments are a little out there (required field trips) but still fun. This tests are tricky so study hard! If he sees you in the hall, he'll greet you warmly.

A great teacher, but he's a little unforgiving on makeup work. If you miss a quiz or a test, you're out of luck. His tests are hard, by the way. Make sure you study a lot. He doesn't accept late work of any kind. Aside from that he's a wonderful teacher. Very enthusiastic and he's overall pretty a fun guy.

I was terrified of science...but Parke blinded me with science. By that I mean, his enthusiasm was contagious and there I was, driving 50 miles from the city on a frigid winter night to look at stars! Fantastic prof, go for it!

I suppose I will be of the few to say I did not like him at all. He's got an ego which made me not want to add comments or questions in class. Made rude remarks on papers and honestly, I paid attention in lectures and studied fairly hard.

In my opinion, Parke is one of the best instructors at mctc. He is extremely helpful and shows genuine concern for the success of his students. He actually sees his students as real people that are worthy of getting to know. Unlike many instructors, he takes the time to learn your name.

Parke is an amazing teacher. He loves astronomy and it is infectious! He gives great lectures, accompanied by clear power points. He makes every class interesting and is always willing to answer any questions. Also, he tells terrible jokes, which is always a plus in a professor.

25 years ago I took remedial math with this poor professor who got stuck with a bunch of "math challenged" students. His easy going personality and endless patience wiped away my traumas. I was able to learn math and finished the whole course 2 weeks ahead of schedule. Someday if I return to Mpls, I'll meet him and say THANK YOU once more.

Amazing guy and teacher, he makes learning fun, interesting, and exciting. You will have to travel to go star gazing if you want a good grade, but it is really fun once you get there. One in a million teacher, you should take his class!

Class taken to fulfill dreaded math & science credits. Prof's passion for astronomy & students was key to enjoyment & learning. I met all required to get an A that by midterm & prof said I could skip the rest & still get A. No way, I enjoyed it & 20 yrs later still stargaze.

Nothin like having an awesome Astro teacher! P. Kunkle's a great teacher. The observatory field trip was super magical (worth the drive), and make sure you do all the outside of class observations. I wish I still had the class, learning about our universe changed my outlook on life itself. Every class I left feeling happy and wanting to learn more.

Parke is the best!! He makes the class fun and interesting, because he is so clearly passionate about his career. Kind. Funny. Understanding and very accommodating. Homework is fun and fairly easy, but tests are difficult. Make sure to take lab at same time. Almost a guaranteed A then, because lecture work applies to lab. Highly recommend Parke!

Great Professor, He really really loves astronomy. He is very understanding and patient. Keep up with all of the random assignments on his calendar online. I had some health problems at the start of the class, and he couldn't have been more understanding. Lab is great, too.

An amazing teacher. He genuinely cares about his students. I had a breakdown my freshman year and when he found out I was filing an appeal he wrote me an unsolicited letter to help with my appeal. I took his class again this semester and he never judged me or treated me differently, just continued to encourage me. He's a great person!

I tutored for Mr. Kunkle. I think he's freakin hilarious and has the energy of a person who drinks 5 cups of coffee a day ( I don't think he actually does though). Take notes for sure in his class, and remember the experiments he does, it'll help for the test.

who cares if you need this science credit? take the class just to be able to experience this teacher. he's so unbelievably awesome! hard material, no slacking allowed, seat time in class important - parke makes it all understandable. THE BEST!

awesome! even though i had him for math he still calculated astronomy into it. hes very fair, and makes sure you understand the material. ill probably take another one of his classes before im done at mctc just to enjoy going to a class again.

By far one of the best teachers ever. I would take any class he would teach. Make sure you ask lots of questions and look like you care- because he cares a lot and it makes it more fun for everybody.
