Had Alexanderson for 52 a while ago. He's pretty cool as a person, but the material in this class is so utterly uninteresting i dreaded going. Class is curved overall pretty nicely but this was one of my least favorite classes, and not because of the teacher.

Alexanderson is an extremely intelligent man, but he is not good at teaching the material to students, in my opinion. He likes to ramble and solve random unnecessary proofs instead of explaining what you actually need to know. He's a nice, funny old man but very confusing teacher and his exams are way more difficult than the homework.

nice man but occasionally a little unclear on lectures. His handwriting is kind of messy so watch out for that. Very reasonable grader. Go to his office hours, he is very very helpful and is jovial.

Remarkably sweet and helpful old man. I enjoyed the stories he always told. Material was a bit over some students' heads you could tell. (So take that into account when reading ratings for math/science professors...ratings are positively correlated with easiness.)

Great teacher, sometimes difficult to ask questions in class, but is a really nice guy. Go into his office hours if you are struggling or don't get any of the concepts. Overall great teacher.

class was hard as hell...He talks way to fast and excepts you know what he's saying. Literally my whole class went to tutoring because most people did not understand his class.

Most down to earth man ever to exist on planet earth and known to humankind. He has the funniest jokes, too. But that is not related. This class is hard and his exams are tough, but be on his side and have an attitude that you want to do well in math. Then he will like you :)

Professor Alexanderson is amazing, and I loved taking this class - it was absolutely fascinating. He expects a lot from you, but professors should, and I had no problems with doing the work he assigned every night, especially as it helped me understand the material. I strongly suggest taking him AT LEAST ONCE - one of the best professors at SCU.

Alexanderson is a great teacher, and a hilarious person. Loved going to class because he was so entertaining and wore the funniest outfits. Take him for sure.

This class was so hard. He teaches to one side of the class and always was proving equations that was not necessary. Very hard tests. Expects a lot of of his students.

Probably one of the most demanding professors I've ever taken. I spent on average 10 hours a week on this class. Of course that's expected, the guy is a god in the math world. Take him if you want to learn and love math.

Excellent Teacher who really helped me fill in a number of gaps I had in my math knowledge from High School. Difficult tests, but if you talk to him about your issues, he does everything he can to help you. Highly recommend.

Adorable old man, wears bright and funny outfits. Likes telling stories about mathematicians. One of the most interesting people I've met...he's done everything in his life. Class is hard because it's new for most people but he tries to teach well and really loves it and is happy to help students...is usually available. Highly recommended.

Sit on the right side, he tends to only lecture to that side. He also spends way too much time proving equations, and not enough time on practice problems. Since I have also been in his class I have not received a practice midterm. He is a nice guy though, and office hours do help, but for those who actually want to learn in the class, dont takehim

He's somewhat of a hard teacher because he goes kinda fast over material but he's really funny. He makes class interesting and the tests really are not that bad if you do the practice midterm. Plus he goes over the questions in class, so as long as you can mimic his practice tests you can get a good grade in his class.

He is so funny, he will crack math jokes that make no sense and tease people, but never rudely. He wears the funniest clothes too. His concepts are kind of hard to follow, but he is worth taking if you ask me. He is a quick lecturer, so just keep up and do the homework.

Alexanderson is a fascinating person. However, his class will be incredibly difficult if you learn from examples -- he instructs almost completely through abstract theorems and proofs. Go to his office hours and attend every class so you don't get lost!
