Professor Churchill is the best mathematics professor i have ever had. You will be doing yourself a favor if you take his course and are interested in understanding mathematics on a deeper, theoretical level.

Churchill connects with the students and constantly engages with his students. He always gives an opperunity for student to ask question, so take advantage of it, if you are lost. He is also much easier to understand if you go to his office hours. You need a strong will and not be scared off before the midterm. Everything is easier afterward.

Ok so churchill is a great professor. Although his book for linear algebra is TERRIBLE. The text is not for first semester linear algebra students. For some reason he likes it.Do your homework. and to do well on tests study his notes, homework, and the textbook. You can get a C alone on tests just by memorizing proofs and definitions.

this linear algebra class was very hard. the most difficult in my entire college career but was worth it. Churchill is very knowledgeable and a great professor. he grades his tests in a way that it is hard to fail. just memorize the proofs and the definitions and you are guaranteed a 70 on the test. test based on do not hand in and homeworks

He's a great professor who knows what he is talking about. Just do the "do not hand in problems" and the hand in problems and you will do great on the exams which are curved. Some of the problems on exams come straight from the homework.

He is the best math teacher I've had so far. He uses the first half of the class to answer questions and actually go over homework problems, unlike most professors, then uses the other half to lecture. Homework and tests are always graded and handed back the next class, and tests are always curved; he's really fair.

You should be so lucky to have a teacher like Churchill in the math department of a college like Hunter. This man is the real deal. People that think his classes are tough do *not* enjoy mathematics. Churchill FTW.

This class was easy if you were familiar with the basic premise of calculus. And a great review if you already took calculus 2. He also brings in many interesting topics. HW counts and he takes many of the problems straight out of the HW. He is also very helpful durring class and in the office. He goes through material quickly.

Interesting guy. He's pretty nice, but I personally had a difficult time trying to understand the way he approached the material. Had an off-handed way of teaching. Gave a lot of problems to work on, but unless you understand whats going on, you can easily fall behind. Especially in a class such as Calc 2.

Calc 1 was easy with him but Calc 2 is a little more intense, so do your homework and make sure to hand-in all the assigned problems (of course, with the right solutions). He knows people who work their brains off! You'll be surprised with the easiness of his exams if you do all assigned problems MANY times! This professor rocks!

He has his own way of explaining material that can be very difficult to digest at first, however, keep on solving many-many problems and eventually, you'll get over that stagnating point. Love this class b/c of great grading system, no web assignements, just do what he asks you for and do it timely! He'll see the effort and will work with you!

This guy really can't teach. He writes so small and sloppy and his voice just puts you to sleep. The course itself is complicated enough, he gives very hard problems. But, he is a fair grader on exams. Homeworks are mandatory (must do) counted towards your grade!

CALCULATORS NOT ALLOWED SO IF THAT'S A MUST FOR YOU DON'T TAKE. Now that the warning has been issued he's a decent professor. Wants you to know what you're doing not just accept what he says as true. Tests are hard if you don't study but mostly derived from hw and class notes so really study those. Doesn't use textbook a lot except for some hw.

He is a good professor. He's pretty clear and wants you to really understand the material and concepts. Take good notes, not just what he writes down, but what he says. You need to study a lot for his 3 tests and final (lowest dropped) and do lots of practice probs. Overall if you do all the studying and homework it wont be that hard. Got an A.

The posters below are pretty on point but don't listen to the whiners from Precalc and other introductory classes who get easily frustrated by math. I've found that whether or not you're interested in a topic before you enter a class barely matters and having a good teacher is everything. Calc 3 was one of the best experiences I've had at Hunter. He's good, but pushes you to really understand the material. Studying for his class takes time, but you'll have a good foundation for future classes.
