This class was not at all what I expected but I'm so glad I took it. Classes consist of reading something then just talking about it. It's hard to explain this class but if you need a humanities requirement I would definitely take this. There are tests which aren't too hard and the only papers you have to write are super easy and I hate papers!

Great teacher! I learned a lot in this class and she was always so captivating in her lectures. Not a lot of assignments at all, mostly just reading of philosophy papers that are a little difficult to read but she goes over it in class and helps with understanding. Encourages the sharing of personal opinion and class is always fun to go to.

Mckinnon is an awesome teacher who is very fair and fosters an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students. I enjoyed her trans studies class immensely and would honestly take another one of her classes despite having little interest in philosophy just for the opportunity to take more of her classes.

McKinnon is one of the best professors I have ever had. She cares desperately about what she teaches and she works hard to get her students to really understand the concepts she's is talking about. If you attend class, the readings aren't super mandatory because she goes over everything important in them. Still read them though.

Dr. McKinnon is truly a great professor to study under. She is professional and informative, but also knows when to joke around and have fun with her students. The mindfulness papers are a freebie as long as you do them, and the Theory and Case Study Papers aren't that bad if you go to office hours beforehand. Pay attention and you're fine.

She always exhibited the passion behind her work, and wanted it to infect her students. She has convictions, but for a class focusing on morals, does not force conformity with her own. There was lots of room for growth and discussion. A truly challenging class that forces you to consider how you live your life. Lecture ideas often followed me home.

Very nice but gets off task and can be inappropriate by expressing politics when it is not relevant. Wants you to really understand it yourself when it comes to papers, but not a hard class. Hadn't done one read but have an A

This class doesn't really focus on business or consumer ethics. It really focused on racial issues and theories. The paper was worth more than any assignment and she graded it very harshly. I felt the assignment was unclear and it is hard to write as a group with diff styles. The notes from class used in my paper were said to be incorrect...

For Honors Business and Consumer Ethics, Professor McKinnon was awful. I didn't learn one thing about business, however she was more than happy to talk about racial issues the entire class. Not helpful at all during office hours and she graded tests hard with little to no feedback. She expected you to be a philosopher when you're a business student

long, cumbersome readings assigned for every class but they are discussed in detail so you don't even have to read them. This class is very little work, two exams and only a couple papers assigned. Extremely easy, if you pay attention in class when she's discussing the readings you dont have to lift a finger all semester. And shes cool and funny

One of the most intelligent people I have ever been taught by. I have so much respect for her. Lectures are discussion based and there is heavy reading. She follows the flow of the discussion well. Papers are graded hard -- do don't expect to be able to BS your way through them. She tackles a lot of important issues and tough subjects.

Dr. McKinnon really likes discussion, so as long as you speak up in class she'll like you. She offered 2 opportunities for extra credit and at least 15% of your grade is basically a freebie from the mindfulness papers. The midterm was pretty straightforward if you took notes on what she wrote on the board. Papers are graded hard though.

Professor McKinnon is cool. She's easily the nicest professor I've had at office hours. She knows her stuff and expects you to know to know it also. She's probably the toughest grader that I've ever had. She will pick apart your paper and shoot you down if you're wrong in class. A fair amount of reading. Overall, it was a very difficult class.

Professor McKinnon's course is super interesting! The class itself is not easy but if you do the readings and go to class there is no way for you to fail. There are only three exams and two papers, but you HAVE to read! I found her to be very helpful and actually super funny. Be prepared for in class discussions and touchy topics. Good luck!!
