RMP ranks the top Women’s Studies professors and departments in the country!

In honor of Women’s History Month, Rate My Professors ranked the top Women’s Studies professors and departments across the country (using ratings submitted by you!)

Vaughan Frederick of Old Dominion University nabbed the #1 spot thanks to students’ rave reviews – users say Frederick is an “absolutely amazing” prof that “genuinely cares about the betterment of her students.” Others describe her class as a “safe environment to speak your mind,” and “the best class at ODU hands down.”

Frederick, who has taught in the Women’s Studies Department for 16 years, says she sees her classroom as a “transformative space to bring together teaching, social justice and celebration of difference.” Her students seem to agree – one RMP user describes her as a “great teacher who respects her students but creates intense discussions.”

Professor David Christian of California State University, Fullerton is a close second on the list. Students gush: “he’s inspiring and passionate about what he teaches” and “he really gives you a different perspective on your daily life.” Others say Christian is “honestly amazing and will change your life!” Wow!
