    Attendance: Not Mandatory
    Grade: B+
    Textbook: No
Honestly the most funniest old school professor ever. Definetly knows his stuff and wants everyone to learn. He does projectors and handouts. The book is not needed nor required. I passed with a b+ though I probably deserved a b. Always willing to help and attendance is not mandatory.

Mid-term, final (non-cum) and two papers assigned at the beginning of semester due on last day of class. Dr. Halberstein definitely knows his stuff, and previous posters are correct, he is old fashioned. He uses the old school overhead projector with the clear acetate sheets and you will see videos on vhs tapes.

More old-fashioned than other professors, talks and uses pictures, etc, rather than powerpoints which is really nice. The material is interesting, the class can get a bit boring but not too bad. Easy to get a good grade as long as you skim the textbook and pay attention.

Great guy, good (slightly strange)sense of humor, and knows his stuff fairly well. He can be repetitive and focuses on unimportant things every once in a while. You need to study for these classes, he doesn't stress it enough, but just read the books. Article reviews are not hard to do. The content of his classes should keep you motivated.

Enjoyed the class...Better choice than Sociology (ugh!). Covered a lot of interesting material and made it relevant. Exams are straight- forward without tricky questions. Review sessions before tests helped a lot. Funny jokes that related to subject being discussed (e.g. death customs!) Better than the other instructors in Anthropology...

He looks like he stepped out of the 80's. He is a nice, very easy going professor. Lectures though are boring, mostly consisting of material you won't be tested on. Tests don't really reflect lectures at all. Bring other work/a computer to class so you won't be bored.

Although he's taught for many years, he doesn't know much about anthro other than explaining the pictures he has on the ppt. Don't bother asking a question because he won't know the answer.

Didn't learn anything that I couldn't have learned from watching the discovery channel. Something as interesting as anthropology should not be taught by someone so unenthusiastic. The labs are extremely useless. Not a very easy class despite the fact that it's only introductory.

Although he knows his subject well, lectures are extremely boring. The material is interesting but he drones a lot making it difficult to want to listen to him. The class wasn't terribly easy and he didn't give much help on what material would be on the tests either.

Very boring, but very easy class. I fell asleep a few times, but managed to get an "A." His tests aren't difficult, just make sure to read ALL the required reading since many of his questions are from that. He does try to stimulate interest in the class, but he's just a boring guy.
